Garcia back for newcastle - Good news

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

From lfc.tv:

Luis Garcia could make a welcome return to the Liverpool team for this weekend's clash with Newcastle United.
Garcia has missed the last three weeks with a hamstring injury but he returned to training earlier this week and is hopeful of being available for Sunday's match.

"Luis is training normally and I think he can play against Newcastle. Igor Biscan is fit again too," said Benitez.

"The only players who won't be available are Vladimir Smicer and Djibril Cisse."

Benitez believes Sunday's opponents will recover from an indifferent start to the season to challenge for a Champions League place at the end of the season, and that's why he says victory is so important this weekend.

He said: "We know we are playing a good side and it's an important fixture for both our situations.

"We need to get nearer to the top four. If we win, we can close the gap and keep ourselves ahead of Newcastle who are another side I am sure will push higher up the table.

"It's important for the future of the season we enjoy a good result."

Great news if you ask me. I didn't realise how much we missed him until I watched our uninventiveness against Portsmouth.

i think its more the system we play away from home doesn't suit him as much!!!  Am I just being kind??
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

No you're not being kind. We use different tactics and formations on the road which doesn't really suit Garcia

We should play more like the Houllier teams away from home (am I really saying this) and in the style of the mighty Benitez at home!!!  the Premiership would be ours.. !!!!! (laugh in some kind of dracula stylee!!)

exactly, and a good job too. with three of the next four games being at home, we're quite fortunate, even if one of them is against chelsea.

Ironic how our home form was ****** poor last season and this year it's the other way around. I'm sure we will balance this out after January.

i think it is due to goalkeeping errors.......... We could have drawn most of our away matches if not for those errors.

Reds to return from injury

Both Luis Garcia and Igor Biscan have recovered from injury and should be available for Sunday's game against Newcastle.

Both Garcia and Biscan have resumed training this week and are expected to be in the sixteen to face the Geordies.

"Luis is training normally and I think he can play against Newcastle. Igor Biscan is fit again too," said Rafael Benitez.
