Kenny you have a point lad.....

imagine this team at its peak.... the best side in europe. Now imagine it with and without Gerrard... would Steven Gerrard improve every side in world football today?

In my opinion, the answers yes.

Its a fine line. My answer would be to look at other area's first, i feel we have a young enough team to wait a couple of years before have to make this decision. There is always Kewell, Biscan, Traore, Diao, Diouf, Cheyrou, Pongolle etc who can be sold for a bit of money first, with the RIGHT improvements further consolidation can be made and we can then look to massively improve.

DEFINITELY NOT THE ANSWER. I mean hell !  I'd even have to buy a new shirt

i think it is all up to stevie.. if he does a Michael owen.. sitting on the contracts.. then we might as well sell him early.. but if he give time to the manager, sign a new contract, the club will nv want to sell away gerrard if he doesn't want to leave.he is still young.. do not need to be so eager to go to another club.

Haven't posted much recently, but i think stevie just lacked match fitness last night. If it had not been for our continuing run of bad luck - he would have probably been replaced by alonso.

So my answer is no, don't sell him.

We all (myself incuded), seem to think there is not much money in the pot for january. Bearing in mind what Rafa has done with limited players and funds, surely the board would make sufficient funds available to buy the relevant players.

If he wants to go - fine, but if it is money only then no!!!

I can not beleive my eyes, are you people saying we should sell Gerrard?

Are you the same people who posted in the thousands over the summer regarding his proposed move to Chelski?

I can't believe all this horse$hit about selling Gerrard. I can only put it down to lunacy while the balance of the mind has been disturbed by a disapointing result. I think all of you involved should just take a deep breath and understand it is a new day and on we go. :)

Thing is though if he was tired and getting match fitness again or body language as if to say f@ck this sh.it im not gona drag yous lot through this again.
Harry Kewell can go 65 grand a week for that pathetic
Put 11 scousers on that pitch all in the carra mold and mad LFC fans, not these half hearted players only interested in the money.
Im so p.issed off I really am. :(

Selling Gerrard would be a ridiculous piece of business, even for £30m. He's not only our best player but also a talisman for the team, the supporters and the club. Selling him would be tantamount to throwing the towel in and telling the rest of world football that we're not one of the big-boys any more. What Gerrard brings to the club cannot be replaced by money.

I think there's too much panic bouncing around this forum at the moment. We've got half a squad missing through injury, we lost away to a VERY good Boro side and last night we lost to a dodgy goal a Monaco who haven't been beaten in the CL at home in 4 years. Yeah, all that adds up to a really sh*tty couple of weeks but what's the answer - sell our best player?! Insane.
