Will be a world class super star next season.

Just hope we can get the players around him to unlock his potential.  Because he has it all.

Looks like he's picked up a injury on international dury. Looks like a thigh strain, so not sure how long he'll be out for. We've got a decent run of games coming up so hopefully his absence won't affect our form too much.

Looking at some extended highlights from the Galatasaray game, and my God what the hell happened to Mac Allister? Loses almost all duels, can't tackle right, misplaces simple passes, can't even control the ball properly it just bounces off of him like half the time.

Salah has had the biggest drop of form this season but Alexis is not far behind. He's had a couple of good games but for the most part he's been absolutely horrendous. I'd definitely hold off any contract renewals with him.

Wirtz before he came to Liverpool said that the player he most wanted to play with was Salah, and the best player he'd played against was Macca. Bet he cant believe what hes seeing this year because both of them 2 have fallen off a cliff.

Maccas legs have well and truly gone, he cant sprint anymore!! He loses every duel. He needs replacing quickly.

Strange, not sure why he wouldn’t just say “I’m not thinking about it and my agent is on it and we have plenty of time to sort it out”

I mean put his performances aside for a minute, The conduct at the World Cup of the Argies was awful and for me he's part of it. Good riddance.

Bit harsh judging him on the conduct of the Argentina team Mate. Loads of them way worse than he was and in fairness he had a fantastic tournament.  Simeones son, Enzo and that wanchor Martinez where much worse especially pulling out that banner. Also that dick Messi leading the team away when Spain was lifting the trophy is the worst of it all. He should know better but hes a total sh1thouse.

We would be absolute fools to let a player as good as Alexis to walk out of here for free. Give him a new deal so we hold all the cards. Hes a top player.

Imagine the wages are a sticking point.

I’m worried about his pace, he seems to have lost a yard.

The club needs to make a decision, does he stay or go?

I’m not sure he lost a yard, I think he never had a yard. I think he is better in a Slot type possession team but he needs to be quicker and more mobile in an Iraola midfield. He still has quality to offer but I’m not sure you build a midfield around him if we want to play like we do. I think a top defensive midfielder (which we never got) and Szoboszlai and Gravenberch would be better than Szoboszlai and MacAlister as Gravenberch is a lot more mobile and would be better if he wasn’t the DM. So in essence, if we had a top DM then MacAlister would be a squad player, probably why Grav and Szboz got new contracts

Iraola seems to rate Alexis very highly though, thinks he's a very smart player. In his view, what MacAllister lacks in mobility has in brains, and obviously thinks he's a better choice than Gravenverch from what we've seen this season, despite Grav being the more mobile one. So Alexis might get a new contract this season, it all depends on how valuable Iraola thinks he is and how he performs this season.

The manager trusts him, it's up to him to earn and validate that trust. If his performances are deemed good enough he'll get a new contract IMO, if not he'll probably (hopefully) get sold at the end of the season. I say hopefully not because I don't like Alexis but because we either sell him or give him a new contract. We've just lost too many players on a free.

Macca last season looked leggy and lethargic. He looked frustrated by his own fitness struggles. Im not sure if that was on him or the club, but everyone struggled last season. This season he looks like a man possessed! He looks like hes up for the fight, and wants a new contract. I see him more as a future captain than I do in Szoboszlai.

Easy to forget now but we actually won the league with a MF of Grav, Macca and Dom so they clearly have it in them to peform well. We took a very good PSG team to pens in the CL that year too.

That year it was Gravenberch that was the standout, Macca was good and Dom was finding his feet to be fair. Last year Dom was the best of the three then Macca then Gravenberch. If every one of them have standout seasons then they have the ability to be a title winning midfield but all three have been inconsistent over these last three seasons. I do believe we need a dedicated defensive midfielder and they can play with a bit more freedom. A prime Fabinho for example would make them better midfielders.
