This kid deserves his own thread. As soon as he came on against Newcastle their players were afraid of him, he’s quick feet and tight ball control makes him a handful and the perfect player to come on doing something different. He’s the only player we have with his skill set, if he can keep his composure and finish he’ll be a hell of a player. We haven’t had this much expectation about a young player since Owen.

Finally a prospect that actually looks like he could be a world beater. Just look at that composure to finish the way he did in a game like that. Pure class that was!!  The lad is well able to play at this level and given the preseason hes had should be getting some of Gakpos minutes. Nyoni is another who I hope gets a good amount of minutes this season.

Oozing confidence, calm and composed, this lad is some talent. Prior to the goal he also went on a little attacking run. Hope he flourshes here, his definitely looks a cut above Doak, Woodburn and Co at that stage.

Chelsea remain at war with Liverpool over Rio Ngumoha – the teenage sensation who scored within seconds of making his Premier League debut last night.

Ngumoha, 16, became the fourth youngest scorer in Premier League history when he clinically swept in a stoppage-time winner to defeat Newcastle 3-2 at a seething St James’ Park.

The youngster headed to Merseyside in a highly-controversial switch last year which left Chelsea furious.

In November, Inside Sport revealed that outraged Stamford Bridge officials felt they had lost ‘a generational talent’ and that a tribunal had been called to set a fee for the wonderkid.

A decision, which will be made by a Premier League panel, remains elusive almost a year after he made the switch – and Chelsea will believe that Ngumoha’s dazzling debut may well strengthen their case for significant compensation.

The move passed the Premier League’s five-step process, although that did little to appease those in west London.

Such was the anger at the time that Chelsea were understood to have banned Liverpool’s youth scouts from attending academy matches.

Ngumoha was named player of the tournament when Chelsea’s Under 16s were crowned national champions in 2023. He moved to Liverpool in September last year.

Reds manager Arne Slot turned to the teenager in the sixth minute of injury time and he was rewarded four minutes later.

The youngster coolly slotted in a Mohamed Salah cross following a crafty dummy by Dominik Szoboszlai.

Liverpool had been pegged back by 10-man Newcastle after taking a 2-0 lead.

Ngumoha turns 17 on Friday - and Liverpool paid around £4.3m to Fulham after taking Harvey Elliott from their academy four years ago in a case that also went to a tribunal.

After watching him last season I thought he played like a old school winger hogging the line. He wasn't getting into the dangerous areas where he could really hurt teams.. in preseason I noticed he was playing alot higher up on the field as more of a modern day winger. He looks fearless, and being that High he'd only have to beat 1 player to get in dangerous positions, and he's more than capable of that. I think him playing higher was also the reason he scored the late winner vs Newcastle.

Hes still got loads to learn, but he's so exciting to watch.
