Lucho can blow a bit hot and cold but in the 3 and a half year's we've had him he's undoubtably been one of our best players. The only reason i'd be open to selling him is that he turns 29 midway through next season and whilst he's still in his prime he won't be for that much longer. Terrific player and as a title winner in an era of petro-dollar clubs a genuine club legend but if we get the opportunity to part ex him for a top striker or a younger version of himself letting him go is probably the smart thing to do.
If he end's up staying though that's great too, he's at least got another 1 or 2 prime years left in him and he's an experienced premier league player and premier league title winner so no worries about whether he can cope with the pace of the english game or whether he's good enough to play in a title winning side or any of that malarky.

Rumours building around Robbo to Athletico, though. And I think it would be a good move, he’s a LFC legend but he’s not the player he once was.

If Diaz stay's then great, at 28 he's smack bang in his prime and to be fair there's a lot to be said about worrying about today and letting tomorrow look after itself. We spent 30 years often planning and building towards a tomorrow that never came, if Luis helps us win the title or the CL again next year so what if we lose a bit of sell on value. Besides he's not that old, even when next season ends and it hasn't even started yet he'll still be in his 20's.

Diaz has 2 more years on his conract, he'd be 30 almost 31 when his contract ends. If he leaves as a free agent then that's fine by me, he'd have given us his best years and would probably be past his prime by that point, players with his playing style don't usually perform that well once they hit 30. He's our second best attacker right now plus he helps in other areas of the pitch as well, so unless Barca pays us our asking price for him they can f*ck off, we don't need to sell him. And yakka is right, we've often been preparing for a tomorrow that never comes, so with that in mind maybe it'd be for the best if we hold on to Diaz while he's still in his prime.

As for Robbo, I'd be sad to see him go, but with only an year left on his contract, the likelihood of being relegated to a backup role if he stays and being on high wages, maybe it would be best to let him go and keep Kostas as backup (who has 2 years left on his contract). Atletico want Robbo on a free apparently though, they can do one then, I'm sick of these clubs low balling us.

If he does go i wonder if Andy will copy his old mucka the crying badge kisser and converse in fluent spanish at his unveiling.

And according to a new report from Spanish outlet Marca, Madrid are looking to repeat this trick again with Alexander-Arnold's former Liverpool teammate Ibrahima Konate. The centre-back's current deal is due to expire in 2026 and he is yet to agree terms over an extension.

The report claims that Konate has 'already started the countdown on his contract' and has rejected Liverpool's latest offer of a new deal, with club chiefs fearing a repeat of the Alexander-Arnold saga.

Konate spoke out about his future after Liverpool's final Premier League game last month, admitting he is unsure what will happen. "You know, I just want to say one thing: Everything you saw on social media is completely fake," he said.

If we are in fear of other players trying this "Trent" thing then best sell them off. However the only issue is players will just refuse to go to other clubs and will run down their contract.

If we want to keep them, offer a reasonable deal,  if they refuse then offer to sell, and if they refuse that then publically defame the b*stards lol and let them rot in the reserves. State the obvious, 'we've offered a deal to player X who refuses. Player X unwilling to move on currently and wants to run down contract for lucrative move.

We've got no factual evidence on Trent planning all this, but what we do know is he willingly ran down his contract, giving us peanuts.

And what do you do when Konate in the same way as Trent would simply refuse any offer that is put on the table. The player has total control together with his agent as to accepting offers from other clubs. This unacceptable situation will remain unless the Bosman rules are amended.

make him an offer ...he refuses he goes up for sale and put out to pasture ...he can keep himself fit on gardening leave ....

You don't learn a foreign language in 5 minutes, Trent's exit was planned and planned well in advance too. Some language app blew him up congratulating him on speaking fluent Spanish at his unveiling and for logging onto their site for a thousand consecutive day's which is basically 3 years. 
All those tears on the last day were crocodile ones. Fvcking lectures the fans got even from people like Jurgen and Dom for booing him as well, he might have had the likes of those 2 kidded but the fans could see right through him. Kissing the badge whilst stuffing his pockets full of gold on his way out the door.

Even some fans wouldn't see Sh*t mate. Trent screwed us and people were clapping him, carry on lad, 20 years at the club, you're allowed to Sh*t on everything connected to Liverpool, it's the club's fault he's leaving on a free and everyone who disagrees is immature or whatever. And the same people still can't accept he's been planning this for years even after he came out speaking fluent Spanish. We keep praising and supporting these backstabbers and let's see where it takes us. A local lad shat on the club and was sent off with ovations and is considered a legend, why should Konate be bothered if he did the same thing Trent did?

Trent is a snake and a traitor. He purposley let his contract run down which was his intention from the start, to stitch the club and then out of all the clubs he could go to he picks Real Madrid?
And then doing it as a local lad too when the club won the league just rub salt in the wound.

I'm surprised at you lads, I swapped jobs 3 times in my career, no one ever accused me of being a scab or traitor. If Konate leaves is he too a traitor?
