Look Wirtz is the type of player we should be going after and they cost a lot of money. Surely we can afford a 120 mil signing every now and again. I doubt the club is offering that kind of wage straight off the bat but I would expect him to be getting around the 150 to 200k mark. As Damjan said its earned and those are rules they don't break so I'd take that 340k with a pinch of salt tbh.  Whether he's good enough or not to justify such a price tag remains to be seen but I trust we have done our homework. Hopefully the deal gets done soon.

Happy enough with the players we are linked with so far if we get them.

Looks like the deal is done for Wirtz. Just have to wait patiently for his medical now.

I think a lot of business will get done after 30 June as that is when the new PSR year starts, this window was primarily for the teams going to the CWC.

I posted a thread about our financial position and we have more than enough to spend on the right player. Wirtz would have been worth 40-50 million 5 years ago, prices have accelerated and we need to keep pace. I really think Wirtz will make us a much better team and make players around him better, those players don’t come around too often…. Especially if they only want to play for us.

I think Wirtz and Kerkez will be confirmed this week.

But still lots to be done, with a new striker and Konate’s contract still to be sorted out.

Nunez also needs to be moved one, while Elliott is making noises about being unhappy his playing time (which means he’ll probably be off this summer).

Hope we do offload Darwin, got a bad feeling he'll end up on loan somewhere.

He doesn’t want to go to Saudi so we won’t get as much for him

I may be wrong but it seems business will resume after June 30 when the window opens again. I think that helps the clubs with PSR. The last window was an anomaly due to the CWC

He needs to be sold, otherwise he’ll end up on endless loans until his contract runs out.

I've been deliberately keeping a lid on my excitement re this Wirtz thing fully expecting it to fall through but eff me it looks like it might be happening. What a statement by the club if we do manage to sign the lad.
If we could get Isak as well it would be like the summer of 87 all over again. 87 2.0

Luis Diaz has reportedly pinned his heart on joining Barcelona and the Spanish heavyweights are confident of concluding a deal with Liverpool open to selling.

The Colombian has 'made up his mind' according to the Spanish media and sees this as the right time to leave after three-and-a-half seasons at Anfield.

Liverpool have not offered a contract extension to Diaz, whose deal expires in 2027, and he could be marginalised after the expected signing of Florian Wirtz and potentially others.

The Premier League champions are said to have told Diaz, 28, that he can leave for £51million but Barcelona do not intend to bid that high.

That's according to Spanish newspaper SPORT, who claim Barca are nevertheless 'convinced' they will land their top target in the next few weeks. However, The Athletic reported earlier this month that Liverpool had rejected an approach.

Manager Hansi Flick and sporting director Deco have both given the green light for the transfer in what has been dubbed 'Operation Luis Diaz'.
