But but think of FSG. They need to have a profit margin here....
But I am sure the sycophants will be out to defend the garbage....

They want maximum value for our players think they can get other clubs players for what they feel hes worth and not the clubs valuation. Sociedad were holding out for the release clause.

Whatever people's feeling on FSG are you can't argue that they are a bunch of tight feckers with a serious PR department.

Not only that but why is that we just always happen to "go after players" that aren't interested. Caciedo and Lavia last summer and Zubamendi now who ALREADY TURNED DOWN OTHER BIG CLUBS!
I smell bullcrap....
Matip, Tiago, Carvalho gone and nothing in. Complete joke even though I am not surprised as I knew from day 1 that FSG are garbage....

And players with release clauses are NOT as cheap as you might think. Basically ALL transfer being made today is through installments and the selling club can demand ALL the money up front if the players has a release clause. That makes it MUCH more difficult for the buying club.

This is exactly what it is.. go for players that have already agreed with other clubs, or players that are devoted to their clubs.

Then when the transfer obviously doesn't materialise, they can then say "well at least we tried"

It's been happening since FSG bought the club.. making us believe players like Mbappe and Bellingham could join our club, throwing us off scent. We know they're here to rinse us dry, and then sell us for a ridiculous profit.

Question: Is our failure to even replace the lads we've sold a failure in our transfer policy or did we never intend to strengthen the squad this summer?

Did FSG not assess Arsenal's improvement last season, did they not notice that Chelsea were playing as a credible team in their last 6-7 games? Did they not see City and United show the same commitment to bring in quality players? Did they not see Villa start to challenge for top 4?

City and Arsenal will be strong this season, there are 2 other CL places being contested by LFC, Villa, United, Chelsea for the CL £100 million revenue reward and sponsorship bonuses etc.. yet Michael Edwards decided we didn't need to improve a front line that couldn't hit a barn door (Nunez), gets injured (Jota), is getting old (Mo) and is one-dimension (Diaz) and that's before we mention the back 4.

I really don't understand... if nowt else, why is the club's communication with the fans so poor?

Our squad is paper thin.

No back up for the central defence, no new number 6 and no new attackers.

Darwin is unlikely to hit 25 league goals. Mo will get injured again and Jota is crocked.

Unless something is done, it’s going to be a long and painful season.

Just under 2 weeks left of the window and not one addition. If Klopp was here, I don't think he'd have been very happy with this situation at all.Cynic in me suggests Klopp saw this coming and it helped confirm his decision to leave.

Understand its not always easy to improve but surely it shouldn't be too difficult to upgrade Endo for example. OK Zubimendi didn't come off but there has to be other names on the table.

I'm sure we'll get players in but with the time left, you'd imagine it'll probably be 2 max and I'm guessing one will be a relatively big signing.

I think 2 is being optimistic. I  would be surprised if we signed 1.

We will sign players I reckon because we are going to sell before the window closes.
Gomez looks to be going which I don't think we should be entertaining tbh..He's a solid reliable player and for me plays ahead of Konate or Quansah. I thought he at least earned that right over the years.. Van de Berg could be another along with Kelleher.

God only knows who they have lined up though. Seeing as Slot is just here we need to address areas he feels we need and none of this stop gap players like Endo.

Yeah I've no idea what the heck is up with selling Gomez. Can play anywhere in defence and is a solid back up to all 4 positions, is English and needed for the quota and finally we have no one else instead of him.

He probably wants first team football and has been a loyal servant to the club so they are not stopping him.
