Admittedly it is only an opening bid and as expected it was rejected. So the question to the FSG haters is an easy one  given that you regard them as greed personified: How much will Salah be worth next summer with only a year left on his contract when he will be 32?

If they come back with 130 or more i would sell him.

Yeah I'd take that. I said I wouldn't sell him until next summer but we won't get anything as ridiculous as that next summer so I'd take their money now and reinvest in the winter/summer windows.

The suggestion is that they are going to increase their bid to £200m. No doubt that will inevitably include add-ons. I think that sort of money has to be taken incredibly seriously and will be extremely difficult to turn down. Given Mo’s age and the fact that he has only got two years left on his contract has to be a massive consideration. Can we realistically expect him to be at his best for another 3/4 years? Don’t get me wrong I would be very sorry  to see him go but let’s face it, it gives us a great opportunity to build for the future. It’s a difficult one. Thank goodness I don’t have to make the decision.
Net Spend Over The Last 5 Years 20/21 to 24/25  (10 years
are in brackets 15/16 to 24/25 )
LFC €300m (€420m)
Everton +€33m (€211m)
Arsenal €557m (€853m)
Spurs €571m (€684m)
Chelsea €945m (€1051m)
Man City €370m (€1038m)
Man United €687m (€1240m)

If they bid 200 mil it will be with a sh1t load of addons but it could be ad much as 150 up front. It would be a lot of money to turn down but our chances of success with him are much greater. It would be to much for the club to say no I reckon.

By selling after the window closes they can drive the price up by claiming a premium for not being able to get a replacement, and let’s face it, we were not going to replace him easily anyway. I’d take the money and invest in a top class defender and bring in a prospect to play right wing. We are good in attack, a title winning side always does it with a top class defense, which we no longer have.

I think we have seen the best of Salah and he will not be a prolific this year, especially if he is sulking.

Obviously a he'll be rightly remembered as a legend at our club but we are a team in transition .

He's still a world class player but I think we've already seen the best of him.

Currently at 31 , 32 next June with then just one year left on his contract, to turn down an offer this window of £150-£200 million would be imo criminally short sighted.

Don't get me wrong, I love him to bits but in the longer term the money we may get for him now may be the greatest gift he's ever given us.

I think Nunez is starting to show he is quite good at cutting in from the right. I think he would be well up for the challenge if it meant starting every week as well.

Totally agree we have seen the best from him but he's still a good player. It is what it is and getting that fee would do a lot for us (Hopefully) so if tomorrow ends up being his last game then I hope the fans know before KO so he can get the send off he really deserves.  It would be horrible if the move happened over the break.

I'd rather sell Mo for £100m next May than £200m now. He's going to be absolutely key to our season.

It's just too late now. If they wanted him they should had come a couple of months ago.
He'll play one last season and go next summer.

Rumours he's delaying linking up with the Egypt squad as he mulls over the idea of a move...

Name one club who would NOT sell a 31 year old for £200m.

I hope we don't sell him now, bit too late. Salah will eventually go, summer would be best for us.

He's been brilliant for us, but he's 31 and it's a world record bid. We have to let him go if he wants to go. That's proper money that'll help us compete with the big boys in Klopps final years at the club.

Perfect solution imo. We have had a good start and if our confidence grows we will certainly be top 4 and possibly contenders. Mo is a massive part of that.

On another note Hendo has had a bit to say for himself about his move. Said he didn't feel like he was wanted and was told by Klopp his minutes would be reduced. He's looking for a testimonial now because he said he wants to say a proper goodbye to the fans. He's also saying the reported details of the finances involved are wide of the mark. He said its good money but not what was reported.

Surely he didn't think he could continue to play at this level every week did he. His game had fallen off a cliff in the last few seasons and was a major weakness last year. I think lads like him are deluded and their egos don't let them acknowledge that their careers are wrapping up.
