Soton know we desperately need a DM now though so they'll stick to their asking price, which is their right. The kid is definitely not worth that much however, and it might be the best we looked elsewhere.

Sky Sports News understands the Merseysiders' new offer for Lavia was still below an initial £40m, with Saints wanting £50m for the Belgian international.
The total package took them closer to that asking price, but, with a compromise yet to be reached, Liverpool are now considering alternative options, including Brazil international Andre.
The club's interest in the 22-year-old was heightened when he won his first cap for Brazil as a substitute in their friendly 4-2 defeat to Senegal in June.
Andre plays for Brazilian side Fluminese and has been capped by Brazil
Fluminense are reluctant to let Andre exit this summer, but the player is sold on a transfer to Anfield and a fee in the region of £20m has been mooted.

Hard to know if he is good enough or not Mate but the club seem to think so and they would have ran his stats. The second bid is reportedly just short of 40mil so I don't think they would sanction that if they thought that role could be filled by Bajcetic. We have spent a lot of time on this and made 2 bids so he had to be the No 1 target. Its just the usual stuff imo from FSG.
Maybe in time Baj can step into that role but it's a big ask now. He did well last year but it took a toll on him and he ended up with a serious injury. He's had no preseason either as he's still recovering so it's a massive risk. Lavia would be a good signing as he has league experience alongside Mac. Szob doesn't and might take time to adjust.

LiverpoolFC ready to make a third & ultimate offer for Romeo Lavia. I understand the bid will meet the 40M£ transfer fee expectations by #SaintsFC + add-ons. Player’s side just waiting for #LFC to activate but informed the club his desire to join the Reds. There’s a feeling that Klopp’s team are the only squad able to do such offer at that moment. Dialogue remains opens as #SouthamptonFC won’t let leave his biggest sale of the year with the financial impact of a relegation.
Deal still ON. #mercato

I'm not saying Bajcetic is our answer mate, I'm simply stating how absurd the asking price for Lavia is. What stats could the club have run on him when he's played so few games? Lavia could well prove to be a top player but with some 20 odd senior games played there's just no way to even assume anything about him. Jay Spearing probably had 20 good games ffs.
