Got the 3 points, rested most of our best 11, and we're still hopeful for the league title. Perfect evening overall, apart from the Gomez injury of course.

Tough game with our second 11, but it's a win. And now it goes down to the last day.

Tough game.. but it couldn't have gone anymore perfect. Just a shame City have a full week to rest and prepare for Villa.

Stevie has a big decision.. they play Burnley Thursday and City Sunday. I'd play 2nd string vs Burnley hopefully they lose and Everton go in relegation zone, and then play first 11 vs City and hopefully nick a point.

I always go back to that Leicester game where they rested players vs City, got battered, then played their first 11 vs us and took 3 points. Looking back that might have cost us the league.

That game and the Brighton game where we were 2 in front at home and then ended up drawing. The Spurs game with the awful refereeing too. When you're so close like we are, just two points away from the title, there are many seemingly small moments to think about that could have gone differently and in our favor, so it's best not to think about it. That said, IMO our biggest enemy was the "bad" refereeing favoring City that won them the title.

Anyway, anyone notice how no body made a big deal of their goal which was preceded by a blatant foul on Jota that wasn't given even though VAR is supposed to intervene in those situations? I read a bunch of articles how Milner made a foul for our goal against Newcastle while he clearly won the ball, but I bet I won't read even a single tweet about how Soton's goal shouldn't have stood. And then Pep and Tuchel have the nerve to say that the whole country supports us. It's quite the opposite.

Great result with so many players stepping up to the plate . Anybody watching that game and seeing LIVERPOOL play for the first time would’ve thought this is a very impressive team. So brave of Jürgen Klopp to make as many changes as he did and I don’t mind saying that I was a little bit worried when I saw the team selection. This is an amazing manager and a phenomenal squad of players that clearly understand exactly what is required. After Southampton scoring after a blatant foul on Diogo we deserved a bit of luck with Joel’s goal !!

Come on Stevie - DON’T SLIP UP !!

Can you really see Villa resting players on their last home match of the season, so they can be fresh to play an away match three days later?

Everyone knows that it's written in the stars that Ste Gerrard will take points off City on the final day of the season to not just help us win the title but the quadruple.
Bet Phil scores the winner as well.
Football always throws up story's like that.
