Balague's reporting of this saga was pretty much spot on over the summer and he reckons the 2 clubs are negotiating a fee and drawing up contracts as we speak. According to him Barcelona hope to have the deal done and dusted within the next 7 days.
In other news Monaco have reiterated that they won't be selling any of their big names until the summer.

It's pounds mate. I could never figure out how to type the pound sign on my keyboard. But still 106 million pounds up front is BS...

Sporting Lisbon winger Gelson Martins is a Liverpool transfer target, according to Record.

The Portuguese club have ruled out a January deal but, should Coutinho leave for Barcelona, the Reds may come back with an offer that could test their resolve.

He is another really quick wide forward and that is not something we really require at the moment. If as it seems, Coutinho leaves, we need a clever creator with guile. Struggling to think of any real standout candidates tbh

£140m is good business....but only if we can replace him now.  That's the hard bit.

£140m seems light to me, especially with 4 and a half years still left on his contract and no buy out clause.
Get Mahrez in now and have a look at Lemar in the summer.

I was impressed with Banega when Sevilla played us but I think he's knocking up 30. I'd be tempted to try and get Dries Mertens and play Firminio as a Attacking mid, or even go flat out and try for Griezmann.

Griezemann would be a great signing, he's off to Barca in the summer though.

We need a creative player that's for sure wether it's Lemar or Mahrez (or both!)

Just reading over on RAWK that the journo in France who first broke the news that Mahrez was going from Le Harve to Leicester is saying that we have sounded out Mahrez. Apparently we've told Mahrez if Coutinho stays any potential deal is off but if he goes we might be interested.
He turns 27 next month so he is just entering the best 3 years of his career, as long as the fee isn't ridiculous i think he'd be a very good signing myself. I don't think he'd be the long term solution (that's probably Lemar or Fekir) but as a stop gap I think he'd do a great job. I've seen him single handedly rip teams like City and Chelsea apart and that was playing for Leicester so the lad has great ability, heck, he's led us a merry dance once or twice as well.
Unlike Lemar he can play in this year's CL which is a bonus.
We need a Fekir or a Lemar but Mahrez will do to try and cushion the blow of losing Phil in the short term.

Mahrez would suit us well his very quick and would gel in with the lads with ease. I could see him linking with Salah, Mane on our attacks.

Sadly the Coutinho magic is irreplaceable. Mane tried long rangers today which were going to space. We are going to miss his magic touch but we will have to move on.
