Lots of outlets running with the Van Dijk story now so hopefully its true. Couldn't care less how much he costs or is getting a week because we need players like this if we want to push on. He will improve our defence so I'm happy to see this deal being done.
On the + side Lovren is delighted with the news http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/fo ... r-13140955

He better buy the splinter cream for his ***** now, because he'll be seeing a lot of the bench if this happens  :D

I like Van Dijk but 60 mill is a joke. If it was 40 then I'd be fine.
Oh well atleast we will have a solid CB partnership.

Looking good so far, if we can get Keita and a new LB we'd have a decent side.

                                                   Mingolet

Clyne.                        Matip.                   VAN DIJK.              NEW LB

                                     Hendo.                  (KEITA)

                                                 Coutinho

                    Mane.                                                      SALAH

                                                  Firmino

If we land Salah and VVD we still need a striker and a left back. I'd love us to sign Keita as well. I've read some links to Lacazette recently

Van Dijk would address an obvious weakness we have which is set pieces. I'm a big fan of all of Lovren, Matip & Sakho but none of them are anywhere near as dominant aerially as Van Dijk. He'll help us down both ends imo and would be worth whatever we pay.

Salah is essentially our Willian, Mata, Walcott, Son kind of option. I'm not sure he makes the strongest 11 unless someone like Firmino is sacrificed and Mane's position is changed. That said, he's bound to get plenty of games and play a big factor on how our season turns out.

We still need to bring in a top CF imo. Lacazette would be great and there a few other names out there who wouldnt be terrible either.

I think if we can somehow see these brought in, we'd be set for an exciting season:

- ST
- Van Dijk
- Keita
- Salah
- LB

Lacazette has scored 100 goals in 200 league games. Sounds pretty good to me...

He would be perfect mate, we really do need a striker but i think Klopp will keep Firmino uptop.

Those 3 alone would be a quality transfer window for us.

Agree with the 2 outstanding, need a striker and a LB. I still say Vardy would do a great job and wouldn't cost the earth

Southampton have supposedly reported us for making an illegal approach for  Van Dijk. Look's like this could be a messy one. Got to be honest, didn't like Klopp's comments at the end of the season mentioned we had spoken to our targets etc. Needs to be a bit more cute and cagey about things imo

If the club have 'illegally' approached the player and we subsequently get punished for it by not being allowed to sign the players in question then we need to get shut of the entire staffing structure involved. Starting with Klopp, the scouts, the chairman, the OWNERS - every single Tom, Dick and Harry can get the fuk out. These are business men and these people should by now know the rules for approaching players and the procedures needed to be taken to sign someone. Break the rules and you've no excuses. Your fired.

I'm fed up of hearing how these people don't adhere to the rules and laws that have been put in place to protect players and the clubs. Do they think they're above the laws?

Fuking amatures.

Basically Southampton wanted a bidding war.
Virgil Van Dijk stating he wants us has halted that.
Saints now are fuming.
So tantrum

Yup they wanted a mass auction between us, Chelsea and City. Considering we are loyal customers im surprised they are stitching us up. Well its all about money i guess. Saints owners must be loving it making tons of profit.
