the good thing about getting rid of a player quite quickly is that the buying clubs tend to think that the non performance is due to the player not fitting in rather than player's own incompetency. If we kept benteke for another year as a sub, then his value will drop with the impression being he is a bust....

Not that fussed over Goetze as he seems to have lost his edge with Munich getting shut and if his Euro performances are a guide.

He might do alright back at Dortmund but hes taking the safe road home rather than fighting back by coming to Liverpool and testing himself in Premiership, prove to everyone
hes still a top class performer.

I think we took Mane ahead of him and I am very pleased about that, got really high hopes of him, looks mean and ready to push his career on again with us.

If Gotze was the Gotze Klopp made at Dortmund we would have been gutted missing out on him.. but lay offs through injuries and lack off game time have really hindered his progression as a footballer. I would say Mane is hungier, proven, and more importantly he wanted to join us.

We need a left back, a centre half, a midfielder and possibly a striker.

Gotze is the least of our concerns

Agreed mate, we have plenty of cover at AM (Coutinho, Firmino, Lallana, Mane, Markovic etc), its other area's of the team (especially CM) where we need to strengthen.

The Gotze boat has sailed. Can't say I'm that gutted. He wasn't very good at the Euros and can't get a regular spot at Munich either. It's also  somewhat telling that just a couple of clubs are chasing him.

We STILL desperately need a defensive midfielder...and a left back...and a central defender.

Kante has signed a 5 year deal at Chelsea on £150k per week and fee believed to be £30 million

Radio 5 reporting that we're looking to sign Jeremy Mathieu as defensive cover.

Tony Barratt from the Times reporting we have made a enquiry for
Georginio Wijnaldum and hoping to agree a fee this week.

I've heard the same rumour about Wijnaldum. He scored 13 goals last year if I'm not mistaken so he could be quite handy. I didn't seem to watch much of him last year if I'm being honest.. would he be a good fit for the team?
