Spurs been linked with Gotze this weekend and German papers seem to think it's between them and Dortmund. Wants to move to a club where he will be a starter. Still think we will be in with a shout but not too fussed about this one as not a position that is a priority imo

Gotze looked well out of sorts at the Euros. Has proven in the past he's a good player but I don't think there are any guarantees this guy will cut it in the premier league.

I am not too bothered we aren't getting him. That said I'd be happy enough if we did somehow get him as Klopp might just get the best out of him again.

If that is a concern of his then long term he's probably better off at a club like Newcastle who regularly get 55,000 gates than somewhere like Bournemouth.
Especially now that Rafa is in charge.

Agreed, Gotze's performances just don't justify all the hype surrounding him, he looked bang average right throughout the Euro's and spent most of last season warming the bench at Bayern. Personally speaking if the club has £25m-£30m burning a hole in its pocket then I'd much prefer to see that money spent on a top CM, we don't need anymore AM's.

I've been banging on about William Carvalho for a couple of years, he is the type of player I think would make a serious difference in our centre of midfield, although I think he would be 30+ million and clubs with more financial clout than us and CL footy would get him first

Got to be honest, watched Carvalho in the Euros and don't think looks particularly great. Gets about the pitch but his touch and contro don't look particularly great to me. On the other hand, that Renato Sanches that Bayern have signed looks outrageously talented for a 18 year old. Think they have bagged a lad that is going to be one he'll of a player in a few years time

Echo seem to think we moved on from Gotze and Klopp is now happy with our attacking options and will look to address other areas on the pitch. Left back and central midfield got to be a priority now. Don't want Moreno anywhere near the first team next year, he is rubbish

We no longer want Gotze and let's be honest we were last choice for him. So its a win win for both parties.

Liverpool on verge of signing Brazilian striker: Talks held, work permit requested

LIVERPOOL are close to completing the signing of Anderson Talisca from Benfica, according to reports.

The 22-year-old is regarded as one of the brightest talents to come out of Brazil and has been in impressive form for Benfica since signing from Bahia in 2014.

Talisca has scored 20 goals in 76 games for Benfica and played a key part in their title-winning success last season - despite starting just eight times in 26 games last term.

And his displays for the Portuguese side have not gone unnoticed with Liverpool said to be interested in the Brazil Under-23 international.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is believed to be keen on overhauling his squad ahead of his first full season in charge and Portuguese newspaper O Jogo claim he has now set his sights on Talisca.

It is claimed Klopp is in talks to sign the Brazilian forward and a deal is said to be close, with the FA apparently receiving a work permit application for Talisca.

Klopp has already been making waves in this summer's transfer window by signing centre-back Joel Matip on a free transfer, shot-stopper Loris Karius from Mainz and winger Sadio Mane from Southampton.

But with Christian Benteke set to leave the club - with Crystal Palace understood to be keen - it could facilitate a move for Talisca.

God knows what happened there. Apparently the deal was all but signed and he was looking at houses in the area. No idea why he had a sudden change of heart

If Talisca is so good how come he only started 8 times last season?

Also watching the vid, these players always look good when poor defending gives them so much time and space.

Finally... at the beginning it shows his stats, strengths and weaknesses. His only weakness is 'decisions'  He's stooopid.

I haven't watched anything of him or even heard much from anyone but on the face of it his stats are underwhelming. Are we just hoping if we shove enough Brazilian playmakers together they'll eventually click?
