Wow 12 million for Moreno? That's a fantastic piece of business, the kid is easily worth at least 15. Hopefully a quality striker will arrive and that will be that for this window I think.

On the subject of a keeper.... Stoke want Assaidi (6 mil ish), why dont we offer Stoke Assaidi plus cash for Begovic ??  I have said it before and it makes perfect sense

I take it that Stoke are not in a great need of money so they probably ask too much for Begovic and I take it that Begovic is not in a great need to leave so he's not requesting a transfer or anything, I guess that's why such a good keeper like him is still at Stoke, can't think of anything else. They'll probably ask for 20m+ or something silly like that and no one would be willing to spend that on a keeper.

No can't be right - Ayres doing a fantastic job?

He probabably offered £120m and got lucky !!!

It is high time that critics of Ayres and the owners started to eat big chunks of humble pie. They have used last seasons brilliant achievement very effectively to dramatically improve the overall squad. Ok we may not yet be in a position to persuade the likes of James Rodrigues to come to Liverpool but then again apart from a couple of clubs who is?

The squad is completely unbalanced, has FAR to many players and far to much deadwood in it and lacks genuine quality apart from Lovren, Coutinho and Sterling.

We still have 18 days to get in a striker, hopefully another holding midfielder and back up GK.

18 days is a lot of time to get deals done.

I am, however, not holding my breath that any of these players will be massive, world wide head line grabbing news players.

I get the feeling Borini will go and Eto'o will come in, Bony will come in, and a couple of other players. Maybe a Loanee as well.

I disagree apart from the striking issue i think the squad is looking much more balanced to that of last years.
I also disagree on the quality you have mentioned, Sturidge scored a lot of goals last year and without Henderson who is extremely underated we lost alot of energy and bite!
I remember the synergy of this team being our greatest asset last year and i dont think it will be any different this year, lets give Brendon and the players a little credit for what they achieved for the season just gone...

We may have lost the golden boot winner, but we also still have the runner up.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

Linked with an imminent move to Trabzonspor, Liverpool’s Ivoirian defender Kolo Touré says he will remain at Anfield and honour the last year of his contract with the Reds.

After getting a confidence boost by manager Brendan Rodgers, the 33-year-old is feeling as fit as ever and ready to fight for playing time in the new Premier League season.

“I am still at Liverpool. I had talks with the coach who clearly indicated that I was part of his plans. It is a privilege to be at Liverpool. I am very happy to wear the shirt of this legendary club,” Kolo told Sport Ivoire.

“I feel good physically. At 33 years of age, I am ready for any challenge. It is because I have been spared from serious injuries during my career. I continue to work hard in training to keep up the momentum, and it is why the coach wants to keep me at Liverpool.

“Trabzonspor are interested in me, but I have expressed my pleasure at being a Liverpool player.

“Yes, it is always a possibility to join a lower league for more playing time, but I am a competitor and I decided to stay at Liverpool. However, the situation can change at any time, but for the moment I am at Liverpool and I want to carry on with the club.”

Eto'o may not be as bad as everyone's making out to be. The way we play and the chances we create, all Eto'o needs to do is bang in the goals, and he's one of the best at doing that. If he can score 9 goals out of 21 league games for the super defensive minded Chelsea, he can easily score 14-15 goals for us...

this lad is a founding father in the term mercenary  :nod
i think it sucks that we are even being linked with him with so much time remaining in the window. if this deal was pushed through in desperation in the final hours then id understand. we have already got our quota with overaged striker in lambert and the last thing we need is another.
we have had more than enough time in this window to come up with something better than this  :nod

But what's the alternative? Bony?

I'm not sure Eto'o is the solution. I really like Bony as a player (he's a 10mill player no more but his touch is great and he can score goals) but I'm not sure his style fits our system. We need someone with good movement upfront. Remy -again- would have been ideal as backup and we should probably try to find someone of a similar style and caliber. From the PL, someone like Walcott would probably be perfect for us. Godd starter/cover for a couple of positions and fits the style of play.

....and then Ben Smith @ the BBC has his say....

#LFC still looking for a striker. Have enquired about Benzema, Falcao and Cavani. But have been told 'no chance'

Samuel Eto'o is being considered by Liverpool but is one of a handful of options. LFC have not met his camp
