Arsenal are bringing in the sort of players we should be targeting. As things stand, Chelsea (3rd) have improved drastically. Arsenal (4th) have improved drastically. ManUtd (7th) have improved significantly. Heck, even City who had/have the best squad and won the league have improved their squad.
We have SPENT 40mill bringing in players WHO WOULD NOT MAKE THE STARTING 11 as things stand. On top of that, we are about to sell our (and the league's) best player. To say that I'm dissapointed with how things are going would be an understatement. As far as I'm concerned, this should have been the window where we go out and spend the money on 2 or 3 top players who are good enough to walk straight into the starting 11(what all the other sides around us are doing; Fabregas, Costa, Shaw, Herrera, Sanchez, etc.) instead of spending 40 fcking mill bringing in B- players to replace C+ players.
I know there's still time to fix things but I find it fascinating that a side that came so close to winning the title would go out in the summer window, spend big money, and end up with a weaker starting 11. That is the bottom line and any talk about the SQUAD being better is nonsense. We didnt come close to winning the title because we had a good squad. We almost won it because our starting 11 -led by Suarez- were fantastic. Arsenal, Utd, Chelsea, Tottenham all had better squads than we did and that didnt get them anywhere.

Brendan Rodgers had reportedly earmarked Spurs' Belgium defender at the start of the summer, but would need to bid in excess of £15million to prise him from White Hart Lane.
Southampton will be reluctant to lose Lovren after already seeing three of their star players - Luke Shaw, Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert - leave St Mary's this summer, so the Reds may have to switch their attentions to the Belgium international.
Vertonghen has said at this World Cup that he is happy in north London but previously claimed he wanted to move on to a club where there was Champions League football, so he might be persuaded to leave.
Meanwhile, Liverpool could battle Arsenal for the signing of Schalke's £10million-rated Netherlands striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

Huntelaar has just one year remaining on his current contract and Schalke could be forced to sell unless agreement over new terms can be reached.
But the 30-year-old says he is still negotiating with Schalke about an extension, and wants to see how those talks progress before deciding on a move.
He told De Telegraaf: "Regarding the rumours about Liverpool, it would only be fair to speak to Schalke first.
"I've talked with Schalke about an extension for a while. After the World Cup I am having a holiday. Then I will speak to them again.
"I'm not talking with my agent about the interest from clubs right now. I'm fully focused on the tournament."
It now remains to be seen how the talks with Schalke progress and whether Liverpool step up their interest again should negotiations stall.
