Guy On Rawk saying his heard the deal for Suarez is done and it will be £60m and Sanchez, so maybe the news that he is close to going to Arsenal are a bit premature

Have a feeling that the club is going in hard for Sanchez, hence this whole hold up in selling Suarez.

Pretty happy that we are growing a pair and finally going after someone that is world class.

Getting sick of listening to the nuffs nuffs on here thinking that 75m will solve all our problems, once he is gone.  :no

75 million will certainly not solve our problems but keeping a player that will sell us out at any chance resorting to embarrassing tactics and petulance as great as he is will only add to our problems in the long term. He played great last year not for the love of the club but to put himself in the shop window. Sometimes integrity is more than winning. Get rid now and rebuild.

Remember when we bought Suarez no one knew how good he will get. We bought Caroll to replace Torres when it it seemed we would never cope without him. We replaced Torres with a better player and I think we will do the same this time. It might not be this transfer window but we will move on.

Suarez could have still moved with our respect and blessing but the bite and behaviour afterwards blaming the British media shows he was already playing for Barca. I hope he fails!

Pun intended but I'd bite their arm off for that.

From the Mirror

Liverpool's Martin Skrtel a transfer target for Galatasaray and would earn £100,000-a-week
Jul 05, 2014 23:00 By Neil Moxley
Turkish giants are willing to throw cash at Slovakia centre-half who has two years left to run on his current contract PLUS: Aspas on his way

Martin Skrtel is being lured to Turkey by a staggering offer from Galatasaray, writes Neil Moxley in the Sunday People..

The Liverpool star, who has two years left on his Anfield contract, has been told his salary will be a minimum £100,000 a week.

Skrtel was one of the cornerstones of Brendan Rodgers' defence last season. And now the stage is set for a tug-of-war between the two clubs over a fee as Liverpool will be reluctant to release him.

The 29-year-old is not unhappy on Merseyside but he will be minded that several big-name stars such as Didier Drogba and Wesley Sneijder have already moved out to Istanbul.

If he goes, the Slovakian centre-half will be joined in the Reds' departure lounge by Iago Aspas, who is set to join Sevilla for around half the £7.2million he cost just a year ago.

Liverpool hope to nip in and sign Ashley Cole before the former Chelsea man pens a deal with Roma, reports have claimed.

Reports linking Cole with Roma surfaced earlier in the week and gained momentum over the weekend, but it has now been suggested that Liverpool could hijack the deal.

The 33-year-old left-back is a free agent after being released by Chelsea at the start of the month and reports in Italy claim Roma will be his next destination and he will sign a two-year deal with Rudi Garcia's side.

If the reports are to be believed, Cole is in talks with the capital club and if he agrees terms, will be unveiled as a Roma player on Monday.

However Liverpool still have time to gazump Roma and the chance to stay in the Premier League could appeal to Cole, who believes he still has a few years left in him at the highest level.

Former England defender Cole retired from international football this summer after being left out of Roy Hodgson's World Cup squad. He made the last of his 107 caps against Denmark in March.

Brendan Rodgers hopes to beat Borussia Dortmund to the signing of Belgium's World Cup striker Divock Origi by agreeing to loan him back to Lille.

The Germans have emerged as serious rivals to the Reds as both clubs look to tie up an £11million deal.

Dortmund chief Jurgen Klopp has spent £25m beefing up his strike force already this summer, adding Ciro Immobile from Torino and Adrian Ramos from Hertha Berlin to his squad. But he is in the market for a pacy forward and it appears Origi would favour a move to Germany rather than Liverpool.

So Rodgers has tried to change the Lille forward's mind by offering him a season-long loan back to the French club.

Origi has been a revelation in Brazil, helping Belgium through to Saturday's World Cup quarter-final defeat by Argentina.

Costa Rica's Keylor Navas has been one of the best goalkeepers of the tournament at this summer's World Cup, and has put in another stunning display in his side's quarter-final against Holland.

Navas' performance have reportedly attracted attention from both Liverpool and Arsenal and tonight's display will only serve to heighten interest across Europe, with Bayern Munich also mentioned in connection with the 'keeper.

The 27-year-old Levante stopper kept the highly-rated Dutch side at bay in Salvador, denying Robin van Persie, Wesley Sneijder and co. time and again to take the game to extra time.

Mauricio Pocchettino is stepping up his bid to take defender Dejan Lovren to Tottenham, writes Steve Bates in the Sunday People.

Just 24 hours after Liverpool had a £15million bid for the 24-year-old defender rejected by Southampton, the former Saints boss triggered new employers Spurs' formal interest in the player.

The Saints want upwards of £18m for the Croatian star who only joined the club a year ago from Lyon in an £8.5m deal.

New boss Ronald Koeman wants Lovren to stay but it's thought the defender - on holiday after playing for his country in the World Cup - is adamant he wants to leave.

Pochettino wants the big Croatian to join him at White Hart Lane as he plans for the new season, but Spurs will have to come up with close to £20m to seal a deal. However, Liverpool are still in the frame.

If we offload Pepe - I'd snap that Navas up as back up/decent challenge to Simon.

Do not want us to be paying £20m for Lovren. That is downright robbery and Southampton will be laughing all the way to the bank. We have already overpaid for Lallana IMO, considering there is talk of Sanchez going to Arsenal for a figure in and around the £25m mark
