Suarez is that good I wouldn't swap him for Sanchez Pedro and twenty five million.

If there is a buyout clause in his contract though Stu there's eff all we can do about it.
Unfortunately his stock is through the roof ATM and scoring 2 against England when clearly half fit has sent it higher.

Agreed and if Uruguay continue in the competition and he continues scoring it will only get worse, the worst scenario is if Luis ends the WC as top scorer

If we sell him this summer mate the lack of ambition the club has is a disgrace and people need to go. Simple a that.

This club is one of the biggest and most successful clubs in the world. The reputation of the club is huge and worldwide.

We are the sort of club who can attract top draw players providing we have c.l. Football, we pay massive wages to our top players and we play good football.

We should not be a selling club. Not ever. When you get to play here you should not be thinking you can leave and advance your career. There should only be a sideways step.

It's all about the exit clauses in his last Dec. contract. If it says as it is rumoured that he can go for 70Million to either of the big two in Spain, there's nothing we can do about it. It's a horrible thought in losing our best player but Liverpool are no longer a world football super power, Barca and R.Marid are. As far as I can remember, we've already lost McManaman, Owen, Alonso and Mascherano to those 2 clubs.

Suarez leaving will be the end of our amazing rise...

How to keep him here... maybe kidnap his family. I'll let Stu do the dirty deed...seems hardcore enough  :eyebrow

Barca or Real seriously come in for him, which I think they will,he is gone imo. I can't blame the club too much if that happened. Let's face it, when those two come calling, it turns a players head and it's hard for the club to hold onto someone in that scenario, especially with him being South American.

We just need to make sure we get a huge amount for him and reinvest the money on some top quality players to go straight into the team.

Can't replace Luis, but can substantially improve the team as a whole with the money we get for him.

I hope he is here next season, but I think with Barca and Madrid courting him, I would be amazed if he is still here.

I personally wouldn't trust Rodgers to spend the money wisely. That worries me.

Most of Brendan's signings to date with the exception of Sturridge are mostly flops (Borini, Aspas, Assaidi, Alberto). Coutinho, Mignolet and Sakho have been average signings. Coutinho has the potential but at the moment he hasn't impressed me especially with his goal attempts which were usually miles off target. Yes I agree with Stu in that his transfer signings have been pretty poor. But then you must know that the transfers windows he had prior to this summer had been us not in the CL and no good players would be interested. So Brendan had no choice but to sign average players. This time round it's different, he's looking into the likes of Markovic, Moreno, A.Sanchez, Lallana etc who are all quality players. With the imminent departure of our friend L.Suarez, like one of you said, hope he can use the huge funds available at his disposal to improve the team. Suarez cannot and can never be directly replaced by another player. Sad, but true.

No need to hate the fella for leaving, at least he didn't do a McManaman or Owen on us.

The pool of players we can now go for is completely different. If Suarez does go, we can use the cash to go for players that we would normally have struggled to get in the last few seasons without CL football.

I would back Rodgers to get the right players in. Without CL football, you to have to take a chance sometimes on the players you bring in and accept it may not work out.

id like to think he will stay  :nod we have CL football next season and had a good pop at the title so he has got to be happy at that. with suarez i truly hope he has realised what he has here, he will just be another player at the other 2 but the chance of being a true legend here.

as for rodgers and the money  :help

we have CL though and the first players we pick up is a kid and an ageing pro who cant believe he's even signed for us let alone playing in europes top competition. lallana is his idea of a top player imo.
with CL to offer along with better revenues id have thought we would have been aiming a little higher

Point taken but it is only June and a world cup is going on. I know Chelsea have tied up a few deals but let's be honest the likes of them and City operate on a different financial playing field.

I hope the Suarez situation does not drag on throughout the summer. If he is going, needs to go sooner rather than later and give us time to bring in players.

Who knows, we may already be lining up deals now in anticipation of Suarez going, doing the groundwork now rather than rocking up with £80-100m and every club increasing their asking price knowing we have deep pockets
