@ Stu and Only Me

This is the Rumour thread and you lads are well off topic.

Please move your "conversation" elsewhere within the forum because right now the pair of you are derailing the point of this one.

Maybe both of you should re-read the "Thread Derailment" notice

:;):

I'll honor the moderator.

ITK's are saying that Chelsea have basically wrapped up Diego Costa, Cesc Fabregas and Fillipe Luis for next season.
Haven't heard of the last fella but the other 2 are decent players.
We need to step it up if we are going to compete again next season.

Fillipe Luis is a LB or a RB playing for Atletico Mardid ,excellent player which i would consider snatching from Chelsea BTW....Surprised he wasn't in Brazil's squad for the worldcup ,probably because of Marcelo.

I think we're done now until after the world cup - unless we sign someone who isn't in Brazil.

However, I'm relatively content with the business we've done so far. Now we need to ship out Reina and one or two of the fringe players who have returned from loan.

Ship out reina? Why? Why not get rid of the waste of space that is mignolet first?

I’d be with you if I thought Reina wanted to be here and fight for his place – but I don’t.

Don’t get me wrong, I rate Pepe very highly and would love to see him stay and secure the keeper slot…but I haven’t seen or read anything from him to suggest this will happen. Personally, I think Pepe's dream to play for Barca has destroyed all ties with our great club. Hence, I’d like to see us cash in and move on.

Dejan Lovren has submitted a formal written transfer request demanding to leave Southampton. [Daily Mail]

Dejan Loveren has submitted a formal written transfer request demanding to leave Southampton.

Sportsmail Online can reveal that the central defender wrote an email to executive director Les Reed and chairman Ralph Krueger on May 30 with notice of his desire to leave St Mary's this summer.

In the email, the defender outlined his ambition to play Champions League football next season and wants to move this summer.

Despite Lovren's determination to leave in this transfer window that the club have yet to acknowledge receipt of his signed email.

Lovren, who joined Southampton at the start of last season, claims the changes to management have also affected his decision.

Executive chairman Nicola Cortese left in January and manager Mauricio Pochettino has quit to become the new Tottenham boss.

The club have yet to appoint a manager to succeed Pochettino, but have always insisted cash would be made available to the new coach to strengthen the team.

Lovren held talks with Saints at the end of the season after Liverpool, who are among a number of clubs who want to sign the Croatian, made their interest known.

He then followed up that meeting with an email detailing the reasons behind his decision to leave Southampton.

Lovren, 24, was signed from Lyon last summer for £7m is determined to quit the club to stay in the Barclays Premier League with a top four team.

The defender, who was outstanding in his first season at the club, is among a number of players who want to leave.

Captain Adam Lallana wants to move to Liverpool after the World Cup and young left-back Luke Shaw is on the verge of a switch to Manchester United when he returns from Brazil.

Striker Rickie Lambert, also on international duty with England at the World Cup, has already sealed a £4m move to Liverpool.

Fair enough. I still think a half interested pepe will be better than what we currently have though. Besides, if he's playing and we do well again the circumstances are different, Jamie has gone so he might change his mind. Which I would be happy to allow with conditions.

Mainly for Lee to answer ,but Liverpool have been linked with a swap deal involving Borini and Adam Johnson
I was wondering whether you had any information considering your close links with his family ?

Not really fair by Southampton there. Lovren has submitted a transfer request 2 weeks ago but Soton reveal it now, a day before his match vs Brazil. Their plan is obviously to wait and see how he preforms in the World Cup and then raise his price, but they should have made it public as soon as he submitted the request. Not that I care though, don't really want Lovren.

Heard about the Borini-Johnson swap deal rumor as well. Johnson will never make it in a top team. We should just cash in on Borini, even for a lower price.
