Erm ............Not sure if I've got all the facts but we seemed to have baulked at signing our fIrst choice Salah over the transfer fee (?) , we lose out and then move onto our second choice (?) Konoplansky and offer substantially more than we did for our first choice ! Maybe (just maybe) if we'd stumped up the cash we were prepared to pay for our 2nd choice signing we might have actually landed our 1st choice signing.

I don't think ANY of us have all the facts. Nor will we, until the day BR writes his autobiography  :D

Supposedly Konoplansky was already on the radar as a possible summer signing when his contract would be more run down so even if we signed Salah we could well have been in for him in the summer. So it wasn't really second choice.

Who cares about that Ukraine winger. Not getting a fullback and a central defensive midfielder is gonna hurt us more. Stupid stupid management of the club in general not to address those issues.

Maybe we are trying to do a Keegan...just all out attack and score more than the opposition in every game, that's how to win games right? Right?  :wwww

Think Konoplyanka was seen as a player who will become top class and one we could actually get without champs league football.

A good investment a bit like Suarez, and just off the big hitters radar.

Don't think it was that we particularly needed to strengthen the attack at this point but you snap up quality when the doors ajar.

Regrettably we still managed to fook the deal up without any competition for his signature and doubt we will be back in for him
this summer.

Apparently Spurs are interested and will be in for Konoplyanka come the summer. No doubt his price will increase.

If we get CL spot and Ayre doesn't prance about for 2 months negotiating a deal then I think he will choose us over Tottenham

Apparently his release clause was GBP15mil and we left it too late to transfer the required payment in time for them to release the player...just one more of our famous c*cked ups

Liverpool FC is not incapable of propaganda on the Konoplyanka deal either to save embarrassment, and given Ayres poor
handling on a few negotiations lately the form book goes against us.

Been left to Rodgers to spin the party line on the deal (and he may have been lied too) whilst owners and Ayre sit in the shadows.

Chelsea or City would have wrapped this deal up in an hour simple as that, this lad is playing in the Ukraine and we had no competition
for his signature.

And if we were in the same position as City and Chelsea we'd have wrapped the deal up in an hour. Struggle to believe you actually wrote that. Crazy comment mate. Think you are possibly living in the past.
