Apparently, BR has a press conference at 2pm today.

We were the only club seriously in for Konoplyanka. Talk of others being interested was being pushed out by Dnipro to up the fee. Was always coming to us, unless someone comes in last minute which I doubt

James Pearce of the echo has tweeted - still no breakthrough, the clock is ticking.....

The deal has reached an impasse over the structure of the payments, player himself has agreed to join us but the Ukrainian club aren't in a rush to sell. Their owner is one of those billionaires.

Konoplyanka's agent has tweeted that the English club is doing everything it can
Looks like the hold up isn't down to us, at the end of the day they hold all the cards.

There are no plans to fly Konoplyanka back to UK. If #LFC do this deal for him, it will all be done out in Ukraine. #DeadlineDay

Liverpool update

"Talks continue between FC Dnipro and Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre in the Ukraine over the Reds' potential signing of Yehven Konoplyanka. If this deal does go ahead it will all be done out in Ukraine. Liverpool have no plans to fly the player back for a medical on Merseyside."

Spaniard Iago Aspas is going nowhere. There won't be any first-team #LFC players leaving the club today.

From SKY SPORTS NEWS

We are hearing that Liverpool are edging closer to signing Dnipro winger Yevhen Konoplyanka. Personal terms are thought to have been agreed and the player is expected to sign a five-and-a-half year deal to make the move to Anfield.

i just can't believe their was no real effort in bringing a DM. I think there is something really wrong with the guys upstairs understanding of the current situation.
Unless our goals for the season have changed (CL spot) and someone forget to tell us then this goes down of one of the biggest miss this past years.

hasn't Gerrard been a DM for the last few games at least? If he has then they probably think thats adaquate and are focusing on another attacking player/winger.

This is Rodgers 4th transfer window, clearly he doesn't want a DM.
He doesn't want one or we would have signed one by now.

Whether you agree with that or not is another question.

maybe BR doesn't want to sign a DM because it would give him a tough decision that he is not prepared to make

Interesting but it still means the manager isn't doing what's the best for the Club...Either way looks like a bad decision.
