Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

you should never change a winning team, especially one that thrashed a rival by 5 goals. Keep the same team and let the rest fight their way into the starting 11. I have no worries that Sturridge will fight his way back into the team; he's one of our best players and would walk into any of the top 4 sides in the league  :nod

Not a massive fan of Sterling since he got his £48k a week pay rise. To be frank he has been extremely poor. More of what he did against Spurs and he will win over the fans. When all said and done he is only 19 and still developing !!  :D

Yakka - too early to be pressing the I told you so key regarding Gerrard and the midfield. Lets see what happens over the next 4 games. If we get 8 or more points that will be the time to assess just how good we can be without Gerrard.

Are you on the wind up? Fourteen goals in three games and you're asking "what run of form"?

Suarez is simply on another planet at present in terms of his performances and quality.

For the moment at least, we look like we can score goals for fun and with Luis in this form anything's possible. He's scored eight in his last 3.

Ya know what, I f**kin knew that was your game! Absolutely 100% knew it. Redlucasgoggles is at it as well...

My mate always "casts the line" when we're having a pint or two and says I always bite!

Sturridge is a class player as far as I'm concerned and he'll have no problem getting games again when fully fit.

I wouldn't change the team for Saturday and I don't think Rodgers will (I still don't think he would even if Sturridge was fit and available this weekend).  Like I've said before he is a bit of a throwback in terms of saying to a player the shirt is theirs until they lose form.  Central defence is a prime example - we start the season with Toure and Agger, now Skrtel and Sakho are first choice.

I must admit, I'm still very much on the fence with Rodgers. It can go either way for me, I've seen a lot of positives and a lot of negatives so far but thats pretty normal.

I am however very happy with his "rotation" policy. He does it in a similar way I would (or do on football manager  )
I like the fact he leaves players in who are doing enough. He's fair. What he's done with Skrtel for me proves it, he's clearly not Skrtel's biggest fan, but when the lad performs he keeps his place, which is fair enough.  I did think he was too slow earlier in the season to pick a centre half pairing however.

great news that he's back but hopefully we arent rushing it for the sake of it. it will be vital to have him all the way till the season ends.
read a stat in the paper this morning on walcotts injuries and had a look to see what dannys is like, especially since january when he signed for us.
from memory he arrived with an injured hamstring and has picked up several since.
had a hip/thigh injury in early february.
then done his hamstring late february.
missed the end of the season with an ankle ligament injury.
in september suffered another hip/thigh injury.
in november he picked up another ankle ligament injury that currently has him out. thats in 2013 alone and 2012 wasnt any better for him either. they seem to be the same injuries repeating.
i think we are very lucky that luis is made of titanium and is able to lead the line every week.

can't wait for this lad to get back into the team....one of my favourite players by far and will net 20 league goals if he stays fit for the rest of the season.

He'll be lacking match fitness and we shouldn't expect him to be back to his old self before the ankle ligament injury. Hope the Stoke game is not too early for him. BR would be wise to start him on the bench first and introduce him in the 2nd half.  Can't wait for him to be fully fit and have our SAS strike force again. All the best Danny boy.

I wish Danny could play left back or right back because at the moment up front we are doing ok. Would he have made the difference against City and Chelsea? I'm not sure that he would considering The teams performance in those games.
Net Spend Over The Last 5 Years 20/21 to 24/25  (10 years
are in brackets 15/16 to 24/25 )
LFC €300m (€420m)
Everton +€33m (€211m)
Arsenal €557m (€853m)
Spurs €571m (€684m)
Chelsea €945m (€1051m)
Man City €370m (€1038m)
Man United €687m (€1240m)

No dilemma what so ever for me. The lazy primma donna sits on the bench unless we need a goal.

Wouldn't dare move Suarez or put anyone in the side who'll hinder his performances at the minute and he doesn't work anywhere near hard enough to dis lodge Sterling, who has really hit a run of form rather suprisingly.
