That's just great! There are no results from his scan yet, but it's rumored that he'll be out for about 6 weeks. Gosh, I hope he'll be fit enough for the international friendlies.

Danny Sturridge has been the best clinical striker we've had since Torres and now without him for up to 8 weeks is a huge blow to Liverpool's CL qualification ambitions and I believe we will be out of the picture for top 4 by the time he returns in late January where most likely it will be too late for us to play catch up with the top 4 guys by then. He can score goals from all sorts of angles, head, feet, long range, short range, penalties. His abilities are comparable to Fowler. Unfortunately, he forgets that it is the club who pays his millionaire wages week in week out. He hasn't got his priorities right and agreed to play the full meaningless 90 minute friendly for England while not 100% fit risking being sidelined for a long spell for LIverpool who desperately needs him for CL ambitions. I know Hodgie chose him to play, but he could have said to Hodgson, "Sir, I can still play in the German friendly game if you want me to, but if I feel I'm not 100% fit, please sub me at half time". That would be a reasonably thing to do isn't it? Instead he came back to Liverpool and said he would do it again for England even if he's  not fully fit. This lad has the talent but he thinks more with his feet than his brain. Now we're paying for it.

If it wouldn't hinder our chances of finishing in the top four I'd be hoping this injury costs him his form and therefore his place at the world cup.

Infact, it would be fabulous if we sign this greek fella, he plays, scores a Sh*t load, we finish fourth and Sturridge doesn't go to the world cup... I'd laugh my f*cking tits off! :D

Come on, let's not get carried away.

Sturridge is a striker in form no doubt. But he is not comparable to either Torres or Fowler mainly due to the fact that these types of strikers earn the right to be called world class by consistently performing. One season doth not maketh the player.

Postby red till i die!! » Tue Dec 03, 2013 1:56 pm

he is going to be a big loss for us especially over the christmas period.
hodgson is a total owl with his comments on not caring and better that he got injured now, he will always want the best side available to him but again i feel we let ourselves down by not getting involved. woy should have been told by rodgers that under no circumstances was he to play a full 90mins and that was the only condition he was being released.
whats done is done but i hope brendan learned a harsh lesson and will be more astute in future when it comes to releasing players who arent fully fit

Sturridge is a selfish little bitch that only cares about his own personal glory. I won't be surprised if it was him who insisted that he was fit and was able to play the whole 90mins for England. He gets us goals and I'm grateful for that but his attitude is very questionable.

and calling him a "selfish little bitch" shows your attitide as a supporter as highly noble. Curiously do you think it makes you sound hard   because I would say the opposite is true

What on earth makes you think that? Pure speculation

I'll find to find a link but I recall reading an article where he was interviewed saying something rather selfish hence my opinion on him. Plus it's not fair that players get injured during unimportant friendlies and it's the clubs that pay their wages. That's my biggest beef with this whole thing.
