Luis Suarez signs for Barcelona

I dont see why he shouldnt play, he needs games and the Carling cup is a nice introduction before the league games. Regarding his behaviour, Suarez needs to take a long look at himself and sort himself out, if he cant be trusted to play against the Mancs then we/he have a serious problem. Im sure he will be on best behaviour and hopefully he will be looking to improve his on pitch conduct this season.

in all honesty i couldnt give a stuff about how much abuse he gets from the fans or players, its part of the parcel if you are walking the line's he does. it wouldnt matter if the ivanovich incident never happened as he would have got it over evra anyway.
id play him and for the full 90 as well if he's able.
im predicting a good season from him with no stunts this time, he more than likely still wants his move so another incident will all but kill that and the FA will fooking crucify him to the point that he will have to leave europe to get a game.
personally i cant wait to see him back  :buttrock

There's no reason he shouldn't line up vs the mancs. It's important to remind Suarez that he's part of the team. To disclude him based on past events would likely have a detrimental effect.

Pretty sure Rodgers will want service resumed seamlessly. If he left him out, the media would start and the song and dance would begin again.

Play him and remind him that you get a 3 match ban for a potential career ending tackle and a ten match ban for giving somebody a bit of a nibble !!!

Yes don't bring Suarez back on Wednesday, it's not the right game. He'll probably get another ban.

But I think Rodgers will.

I hope Suarez doesn't play against the Mancs, simply because I couldn't abide the media wankfest that ensues directly after finding out Luis
is in the line up ....................Lets make this game about Liverpool Football Club and deny the pen wielders their headlines.  :buttrock

It's for that reason he should play, no? He's part of the club. Singling him out in such a fashion would invite attention more so than if he lined up. He might suffer a "slight knock" of course. But at this point the media will expect him to play. They'd start the w@nkfest now and jazz it up early.

I think he needs to play. He just played his full 90 in a behind closed doors match against the Burnley reserves. We lost 2-0 and obviously he didn't score.

He needs the minutes, and I'd rather give united a run then roll over and allow them to knock us out of the cup without at least trying. Suarez needs the minutes, he's really edging to get back on the pitch and prove a point, and there's no better opposition then united for him to get back in the game.

I don't see a reason why we wouldn't play Suarez. I couldn't care less about their fans or the media, and neither should Suarez. That should be expected in every game, especially against our rivals. Should we not play him when we play against the mancs in the league at Old Trafford then?  It's a game with lower risk anyway, compared to a league game, so it's a perfect game for Suarez to start after his ban.

Who gives a flying Fook what the media expect ,this game is solely about Liverpool FC and not about Suarez ,if he plays the club will need welly's to
wade through the shite the media will write.

I can just Imagine that cunt Evra polishing his pearly whites at the prospect of releasing another Suarez exclusive "I STILL CAN'T FORGIVE SUAREZ"

Sorry ,but I simply couldn't stomach it mate, anyway the owners have made it abundantly clear what extent of importance they place on winning the cup competitions.  If our respective eggs are to be placed in the one basket this season ,then lets reintroduce our star player when we're collating league
points ,and not when we're pandering to the whims of Fleet Streets great unwashed.

Do we really care what the media say ?

Let's play him when we want to play and let the media write whatever they want.

Not quite what I meant. Couldn't care less about the press. But at the moment they would be expecting him to start since there's been nothing to suggest otherwise. So they could start stirring the pot now if they wished. I'm not against him missing the game. But we'd keep him out for a "slight knock" rather than to keep him out of trouble.

The media are gonna write about it no matter what, regardless of if he plays or not... Nobody would know if he was playing until an hour before kick off unless BR said he wasn't playing, which would cause a mess and an insane amount of media either way.

Anybody saying he shouldn't play because of the media, you need to realize the media are going to make something of it no matter what. If he plays, they'll have already made a big deal, if he doesn't, they have something new to write about. Either way it doesn't matter, he needs to get some minutes in and prepare for our next league game.
