Signing Torres would be a waste of time and money. Same with Moses, same with Alberto, with Aspas, and with Cissokho.

If we're looking at players who could potentially help us bridge the gap, then we'll need to look at top quality players. The likes of Eriksen and Yarmolenko COULD potentially add a new dimension to the side at the final third. Same with Kaka imo. Unlike Torres, Kaka hasnt really had much of a chance at Madrid. He only started 29 games in the last 2 seasons and managed to score 8 goals and assist a further 11 in the process.. He's nowhere near the player he was but he's still a very good footballer who is highly experienced and motivated to do well in a world cup year. If we can get him on a decent loan deal or buy him for a few mill and negotiate a decent contract with him then I dont see the harm in that.

Shay Given ?! WTF

And have we ***** everyone off to the point they keep hiking up the prices !?

What the hell do we do during talks with clubs ? Do we go in far too low or something ?

  17 million for the lorry? Laughable. At least we won't be signing him.

13 million for Sakho is realistic IMO. He might have only one year left on his contract but he's a good player.

As for Shay Given, I'm happy with Jones as backup to be honest. We should REALLY be concentrating on bring in players for other positions.

Think we really did our business the wrong way around - should have concentrated on getting first teamers in early then the squad. If we were working to a sell first budget should have got the priorities in first.

Although I don't like the idea of going to Chelsea cap in hand, Victor Moses would be an improvement on what we've already got, so I wouldn't see it as a waste of time nor money. He's been about a bit, has relative experience for his age, he is big strong and powerful and would be an improvement on Sterling, Ibe and of course Downing.

Unfortunately, as we've left it so late, we will have to pay quite a bit more for 3rd and 4th choice players. We could have got our 1st and 2nd choice players if the Owners had the balls to sort it early by providing funds. Instead, they have the same issue, and now seem to want to give BR funds for these players. Basically, they want to pay over the odds for the 3rd and 4th choices (and of lesser quality)' rather then pay that little bit more for real top quality. Their business acumen seems a little off to me at moment...........[/quote]

As, I said a couple of pages ago.......I'm just sick of it all.

I have noticed that there hasn't been much SQUAKING from the "delusion parade" on here recently?

Maybe the fact that this transfer window is only 3-4 days away from possibly being our worst in recent history, may have something to do with that.

We know we are in a dark place when even the happy clapper lemmings go missing  :oh:

Moses is a small team Star ,not cut to play for the Bigger lads (which I still consider us to be) ,llori never heard of him ,overpriced and looks too thin and week for the EPL physical play (he and agger will be an aperitif for the big guys of the league) ,Sakho looks ideal and we should focus our energy and money on him.

I Still think Kaka at his age and in his huge hunger to play (after being left to dry in RM) ,not to mention his partnership with our little Brazilian community ,would be a huge addition.

The prices being asked for these defenders is partly our own fault, of course we couldn't predict the Toure injury but we needed a top class centre half as a priority anyway. We are vulnerable at set plays and lack a bit of height.

Also I mean we let Suso, Assaidi leave on loan and Downing go too - yet we haven't brought in 1 wide player. I know we had targets and they came to nothing but why let 3 players go then?

Eds - I prefer to be deluded rather than somebody who takes pleasure in saying I told you so when their miserable predictions actually come true !!  :grinning:

Please do not take my somewhat tongue in cheek remark too seriously. My support for the owners is being seriously tested. The trading figures published by SCS also raise some serious questions. Why is there a massive predicted increase in wages for this year? How much do the American's pay themselves? Does anybody know?

£17million for a 20 year old defender whose contract expires next year is simply ridiculous. - On Sportings official website, he's still listed in the B team, not the first team.
