Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I think he is a decent player who has improved us but if we progress in the way we are aiming too I think he’ll be on the bench within a season or two. Good enough to be a regular for a top 10 or even top 6 side but not good enough to do the same thing for a genuine top 4 side. And I’m not just saying that after his last two performances which have been poor, I felt like that when we signed him.

Had a bit of a stinker yesterday, passed when he should have shot and shot when he should have passed. One on one with howard should have ended with a goal.
A forgettable game for Sturridge...

When he's on form he can be exceptional and throw up comparisons with Henry ,but when he's off  he has a tendency to stink the place out .
If I'm brutally honest not at all dissimilar to Glen Johnson ........Some consistent consecutive displays are what's needed.

Guys, if you can see this, absolutely amazing. Love the camaraderie between Pepe and Sturridge there.

It is good to see - now would like to see some consistency from him - he played well against Newcastle but had a shocker against the BS.

So far its all going along the lines of his Chelsea career. Hopefully a full pre season will help.

It's a bit unfair to say it's going like his Chelsea career. He wasn't given a consistent run in the side and only managed 12 goals in 37 games. He's already chalked off 10 in 13 games with us. Getting injured certainly didn't help with match fitness and that would affect consistency.

His performances with us remind me of his time at Bolton when they were flying.

PC's eye for a pass and DS's pace and finishing can make a huge difference for us next year. In one way, It's worked out ok that Luis isn't around as the both of them have had the chance to play together and develop a link. Add Luis to that equation and I am genuinely optimistic about next season, especially since Man U, Everton and (most likely) Man C have rung in managerial changes.

As an Irishman, I'd prefer NOT to see him tearing the Irish defence a collective new ar$ehole, thanks very much.....

Looks like he's going to sit out 4 months because of his injury... f*cking hell that's 2 months of the next season. Apparently, the best case scenario is that he'll only miss the opening game. f*cking internationals

Suarez out for the first 6 games or going to Real.

Sturridge out for 4 months.

Ligament damage can be worse than a broken bone - will be in a cast for a while.

This may sound like a joke but Hodgson is still haunting Liverpool despite being sacked as manager over 2 years ago. Now he's England manager and the friendly match got DS injured for the early part of our next campaign. Who knows maybe G.Johnson and Stevie will break their legs playing for him.
