DANIEL STURRIDGE- Official thread

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Penguins » Sun Aug 25, 2013 1:25 am

I want Sturridge to continue as the center forward as he is a better pure striker than Suarez.
Much more clinical and more of a poacher. Suarez has better creativity and dribbling skills and would prefer him out wide.
I'd be very dissapointed if that wouldn't happen.

Danny says he's playing for fun and enjoying himself. Long may it continue....... Cracking goal. Thought he had no chance of scoring at the time. Top of the net. Brilliant.... More please.

Got to be careful that he doesn't do some serious damage because he is clearly still carrying an injury. Don't ruin him like we have done others in the past.

he shouldnt be going on international duty if he is carrying a knock, he`s just too important to us.
he`s still trying to regain full fitness from the last time he joined up with the england squad

Great buy for Rodgers.

Sturridge has been excellent and his work rate as well as knocking a goal in every game has been superb.

Rest up Danny.

As far as I am concerned Sturridge is the main man now up front even when Suarez comes back. Since Suarez has really shown his time here will be short, let him play in the more work horse positions & let Sturridge develop more as a pure Striker as he is the future. Last thing I want to see now is Sturridge on the wing & a sulking Suarez up front mopping about waiting for Madrid to come in.

While all the praises on Danny S. are true and music to our ears, we only have one clinical striker in the squad. Because BR didn't sign another striker, if DS is injured what happens? We'll only have Borini, mini size Aspas and kiddy Yesil to rely on and to me, they're not up to the mark. Some of you may say Suarez can play up front, but to me Suarez is best utilised wide to support the central striker. This is a concern to me because DS can be injury prone and I hope he won't be declared fit to play for England. He needs the rest to be ready for our future PL games.

Good to hear that Sturridge won't be fit for the Maldova clash...here's hoping he'll get to stay back for the Ukraine game as well  :nod
