imo this signing (and the atsu one) is all about trying to uncover rough diamonds who`s value will dramatically increase, they dont strike me as the type of signings a club trying to compete for the top prizes in the game would make.
lets face it if chelsea or united (or even arsenal and spurs) made these signings we`d all be saying `great! they`ve brought no one in, we`ve got a chance to make some ground up this year` etc.

Liverpool eye up Udinese striker Luis Muriel as Luis Suarez replacement
LIVERPOOL have shifted their focus to Italy as they look to make contingency plans in the event Luis Suarez should leave.
Suarez, who hit 23 goals in the Premier League last season, said that he would find it difficult to turn down a move to Real Madrid after he bemoaned the media's constant criticism of him.
We reported that Real are closing in on a move for Suarez and all that is left to finalise is his release clause which stands at £40m.
The Reds have already signed Iago Aspas for a reported £8m, however are keen to add more firepower to their attack.
Football website Goal.com describes Udinese's Luis Muriel as a player equipped with blistering pace and lethal finishing, however has been plagued by injury problems.
They also note that Juventus, Inter, AC Milan and Roma have all been clamouring for his signature.
Muriel notched up seven goals in 29 Serie A appearances last term.

I think we will make some significant signings, if the transfer window was closing next week and we had only made these signings I would agree with you but we have the whole summer yet so I think you are a bit premature with the doom and gloom
