we wont replace suarez like for like just as we didnt replace keegan or rush like for like.
it`s near impossible to find another suarez, we just go in a different direction.

                                                                                                coutinho

                                                                   brian ruiz               sturridge            luis muriel

maybe something like that

I didn't think that you'd disagree mate.

I'm not asking for a like for like replacement, but at least something close to it. For example, when we sold Torres, a 20 Premier League goals per season striker, we replaced him with Suarez, a 40 Eredivisie goals per season striker. So now I expect something similar. I know that we can't go for the Falcaos and the Lewandovskis etc. but I'd expect that someone like Benteke for example would be a candidate to replace our best player. I wouldn't mind Muriel as a signing, I think he's a good player, but he's not that proven. Statistically, he's got a similar goal scoring record to the one Borini had when he was at Roma. I think you understand what I'm trying to say?

Anyway, Brian Ruiz? Personal wish or a valid rumor?

muriel has a lot more weapons in his game than borini mate, he is lightning quick, very very skillfull, goes past players for fun and is being compared to ronaldo. i think he`d be absolutely perfect for us and infact he`s probably more suited to play with coutinho and sturridge than suarez because he is comfortable as a wide forward where both danny and suarez preferred to play central.
i wouldnt be against a benteke or even lukaku coming in but they`d deffo have to be played centrally, not sure where sturridge would play if that happened.
there`s no valid rumour about ruiz mate, he`s just a player i`d like to see here.

I fully understand and totally agree with what you're saying about Muriel, yakka. He's a good player and I'd love him here. But what I'm saying is, if we sell Suarez, we'll need to go for the best player available (to us) if we want to really replace him. Doesn't even have to be a striker, since, as you say, Sturridge should play central. We can go for a player that would provide more width, like for example, Jesus Navas (valid rumor, don't know where I read it, but apparently City have already agreed personal terms with him). Muriel is a good player I agree, but I just don't think he'll be enough.

Just a heads up; Celta Vigo is in the lead by a goal (ironically, Aspas made the assist), and La Coruna is 1-0 down. Looks like Celta are going to stay in the league and we'll have to buy Aspas for a price that he's not worth.

dont know what to make of this tbh as i thought he was arsenal bound. the mirror is reporting that rodgers has been given the go ahead for a £6.5 mil bid for mignolet as pepe is set to leave.

I'm glad that we're being linked with good goalkeepers. I wouldn't mind any of Begovic, Mignolet or Diego Lopez. Begovic would be my fist choice though. But I think we'll go for the minimum loss approach (low fee, low wages and a sell on price) so signing Mignolet might be the most realistic. I just hope that at the end we wont end up with some kid like Butland.

i would rather have begovic, he`s a much more imposing presence at the back. mignolet is a poor man`s reina imo, very similar in stature and in style.
probably why we are going for him.

i genuinely hope i`m wrong mate but i`m not getting my hopes up with aspas, those players that have a `hard running style` tend to lack technical ability (i.e borini), i would have much rather we went for someone like brian ruiz, ruiz is one of the most under rated players in the prem imo.
he was a star for mclarens fc twente when they won the dutch league and he has impressed for fulham too.

my mate was telling me that whoever the italian football expert is on talksport has just been raving about that luis muriel.
the expert said that when coutinho signed for us he went on air and said that liverpool have got a great player but apparently he got loads of e-mails from reds fans saying havent you gone a bit over the top with the praise on someone who has moved clubs for £8m etc? but he said his judgement was proven right.
he then said if liverpool could sign muriel the signing would be in that bracket if not even higher, in his opinion muriel will be up there with messi and ronaldo in a few years time.
he also said the problem for liverpool is that everyone in italy knows how good he is. he said there could be a slight chance of liverpool signing him if we acted fast (he reckoned if we came in with a realistic offer straight away, say 25m euro`s, the deal might be done before any other clubs get involved) but he said hand on heart he thinks one of the super rich clubs will end up signing him.
why cant we concentrate all our efforts on signing players like this lad instead of players who have spent 90% of their careers in the spanish lower leagues?

I'm already fked off with the transfer window. One of the brightest young talents in Europe (Eriksen) looking to move, seemingly happy to talk to us and yet we're apparently overlooking him. I can't f'king believe it  :veryangry

I know some will say sh'it like "we don't need him, we've already got players to fill his "role" . Well fk that ! What happens when the player(s) we think makes Eriksen surplus to requirements is out through injury ?

Short term and imo blinkered thinking. Eriksen only 21 is pure quality, and available at a decent price. For Christs sake he fits the FSG "vision", even if he ultimately failed to "fit" at LFC we could easily sell him on at a more than decent profit.

F'ucking fuming here   :veryangry   :veryangry

I don't believe technical quality will be an issue with Aspas mate ,and 8.5 million for a Spanish La Liga player who look like he knows
where the onion bag is in today's market a snip . I watched the full game against Madrid and they couldn't handle him,he's cut from the
same cloth as Suarez ,and I have the same feeling about him as I had when we signed Sturridge ,defences in the Premiership are in for
a real test.....and both feet planted firmly on the floor when I say that mate.

I think Ruiz is a good player ,but he has the same languid style as Berbatov mate ,both talented players ,but if lethargy had a colour then
they could both advertise for Dulux .
