I've heard that in South America, if someone is holding your arm, you bite it, it means, "Excuse me my friend, could you please let go of my fucklng arm"?

Just doesn't translate the same into English.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

My main concern is the reputation of the club but for some reason it does not seem to
be a priority a lot our fans these days.

I hear people talking about what Ferguson did with Cantona and Keane but that is what
you would expect from United and not from Liverpool who historically have morality
and fair play at the core of the club, and regrettably Suarez has damaged that and taken
a lot of fans with him.

all this reputation of the club thing doesnt half make me laugh, this club was involved in an incident where 39 people lost their lives because our fans went on a rampage. compared to that what suarez did was absolutely f##k all. lets keep things in perspective.
yes we may get some negative headlines for a few days but f##k me some of our fans have got short memories.

I think that is the point. No one thinks it was clever, I think many just think that there is an over reaction because it was Suarez. Frankly Sturridges' tackle on Oscar (I think) was far more menacing than the petulant act of Suarez. It was on the skynews ticker as "breaking News" all day for fecks sake. There are a lot more worthy things to talk about on the news than this hype. It would be intresting to see had Suarez been bitten by another player what would have been said. Probably something along the lines of "he deserved it" and probably from our own fans too.

The problem is other players aren't going around biting players.

The headlines are down to Suarez. In football it is the hot news.

He is the one to blame by feeding the media the ammunition to focus on him. He prob doesn't care but its getting to the point where he needs to start caring about it. Maybe that will stop him acting like a ***** on the pitch.

anything that happens in footy these days is hot news because you have 24 hour rolling sports news channels and radio stations that are entirely dedicated to discussing sport all day (and most of the night). everything is hyped to the rafters.
headlines are going to happen wether you want them to or not, if they didnt have suarez`s bite to talk about they`d probably start a discussion about wether brendan rodgers should keep his job or start talking about suarez leaving to go to bayern or something.

Yeah except Defoe they resort to much nicer things like headbutts, smashing their elbow in the face of others, going in two footed challenges with their studs up, kicking ball boys, trying to break the legs of other players, trying to kill rvp etc.

Yep all incidents that regulary happen in football and get punished when get - biting someone though ? Three incidents in 7 years as far I can recall - and two from the same person.

Being bitten is a cowardly disgusting act that isn't a natural reaction in any walk of life.

So basically they are going to make stuff up and most of us will just ignore them for what they are - made up rubbish to create headlines.

And then Suarez just goes and helps them

f*ck sake can you guys not understand that biting someone is a LOT different from a nasty tackle, it's the share nature of it which is so shocking, I mean Biting, ffs what is a Suarez?

I think he is an utter disgrace of a footballer and the sooner we can offload him the better. These pathetic excuses from our fans is quite frankly embarrassing, there is such a thing as to much loyalty, and Suarez doesn't deserve it, it's just one controversy after the other and in the meantime the reputation  of the club descends nearer the gutter.

probably the 1st time I have agreed with heimdall. Reading what some fans think is embarrassing, questioning a ban, belittle what he did etc.
Everyone makes mistakes, yes. But this isn't just some mistake and he has shown this kind of behaviour before.
Can't agree on selling him though as we need him. But I guess we have to come off our high horses.
But one more time and I will change my mind.

we get those sort of challenges every week but it doesn't tend to generate the same media and kn:bhead frenzy

Because they have been part of the sport for decades - it's something you see on a regular basis.

Recently the media went frenzy for that Wigan lad

At the end of the day it makes no difference - Suarez bit someone - that's not a regular incident is it.

I hope the difference is clear.

If you had the choice of a broken leg, broken nose, broken cheekbone or slobber on the arm caused by a pathetic love bite, I'm sure just about everyone would select saliva on the bicep...it's the least harmless but apparently the most apprehensible....
