i only see LFC matches so i dont really know about sturridge and ince. and not excited by both of them.
saw a clip on ince - not impressed. but for that sum 4-6m, it wont be a fatal mistake on our part. that boy wanted to leave 18 months ago and rejected contract extension so there was no choice on our part. actually we dont really need ince on jan as we can sign him for free end of the season so i dont know what kind of "hardball" blackpool is playing.

sturridge - heard from chelsea fans he is a selfish player but they rate him higher than torres. when is the last time we have a selfish striker? i cant remember. will he fit into our system? too many doubts.

someone mentioned both of them are "slight", lightweighted. but the whole of barca team beside the defense is light weighted. and they have bigger men chasing their shadow. so that is no really a concern.

if i rather have it, sign ince end of season for free. take sturridge on a loan with option to sign, although that is almost impossible. a big "if"

In a nice twist for Liverpool though, they put in a 35 per cent sell-on clause when they sold Ince, which means that the transfer fee will actually only cost them £4m.

Gazette dello sport in Italy reporting we have offered 10 million euro for Sneijder.

Surely not?! I thought he was on about 200k per week or something daft and inter's issue with him is they won't accept a cut.

Can't see it but that's the calibre of player we need to be after.

Yeah, heard that too. Definitely don't want him, I hope it's *****. Besides, why would we need another midfielder.

All reports are that whikst we have sturridge in the bag, Demba Ba is talking to Chelsea.

I still have no idea why we're not after Ba.

13 goals in 19 games this season

16 in 32 last season

13 in 25 the season before.

Yes there is an injury history, but he is certainly worth a punt, considering he's played a vast majority of games over the last three years

He wont come here with an offer on the table from Chelsea.

We make enquiries then players make choices and looks like he has
made his.

Should have took him when he left Germany but no doubt a few are
saying the same at this point.

should have moved for him before chelsea approached is what i meant.

Also Walcott has proved himself a fair bit recently .. Walcott has scored 10 goals in his last 10 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions.

we will all just have to face up to rodgers wanting his own special type players who suit his system. we can dream all we want about schneider's,huntellaar's and villa's cos the reality is that they will never be here because we arent interested in them.
arsenal will sell no bother rather than lose him for nowt and they would snap yer hand off for 6 or 7 mil i reckon. he's been stringing them along for ages and wenger will lose patience and flog him.
its also a bit silly that we are paying 12 mil for sturridge and chelsea are replacing him with a better player for just over half that fee.
i fully expect sturridge to be registered 1st thing tuesday with the league and then included in the squad for the visit of sunderland. nothing should be holding up this deal unless he is waiting for other offers and if he is he should be told to do one.
if we are as short sighted in the transfer markets then we could do a lot worse than sturridge and walcott if it were to happen

I've noticed, and so have many Newcastle fans, that they Newcastle seem capable of making a single striker look good. They can only play up top by themselves.  As soon as you add Cisse with Ba or Ba with Cisse, they play like Sh*t.  They move one of the two out to the wing and the forward will score, but the one moved out wide plays like Sh*t. Maybe it would work if Ba played centrally and we moved Suarez out wide, but I don't know if that would be enough.  Ba doesn't seem to score from Newcastle holding possession and attacking attacking attacking and finding a way in like we play.  He's more of a counter-attack goal scorer, somebody who will only score as Newcastle first enter the final third, and then he seems a bit useless.

With that said, he's a decent finisher, so maybe he's somebody we should be looking at.  Either way, he's after more money so if Chelsea come in then you know where he's off to.

Interesting update from SKY on Ba.

An update on Demba Ba's future and Sky Sports sources have learned that the striker's representatives held unproductive talks with Chelsea on Sunday evening and he is unlikely to move to Stamford Bridge. The Newcastle United player's representatives will now begin talks with other clubs, with Arsenal and Liverpool among the teams linked with a swoop for Ba.

Not sure we would get Sturridge, Ince AND Ba - that's 25 million

Ba's demands but be quite something if Chelsea wont pay the package and you wonder who else
in England will after that.

The lads a decent player but still some doubt on the injury front. The £7m is fine but God knows
what he wants in wages and agents fees/small print entered into the contract if Abramovich
has walked away.

Unless he drops his demands I wouldnt be surprised to see him going to Russia for the money.

Didn't Ba say recently that he grew up as a PSG fan?

Seems to me that's his most likely destination. He's a fan and they're loaded, it makes sense.

That said, Ibrahimovic is banging them in there this season, so depends whether Ba would be happy to play second fiddle or out of position I guess.

i think maybe ba is having second thoughts himself about the amount of game time he`s realistically going to get at stamford bridge, everyone knows that chelsea will be going all out to sign falcao in the summer and £7m is a pittance to chelsea so really he`s going there as cover, they want him to take sturridge`s place on the bench.
ba has other options though, because his buy out clause is relatively low there are two other big clubs who are interested in signing him and if he goes to either us or arsenal the odds are such that he`ll probably be a regular starter. that must be a factor in his thinking.
i intially didnt want him because i dont think he`s anything special but john aldridge made a good point last night when he said that at least ba is tall and decent in the air, he`s not brilliant in the air but he is competative and at the moment any time we cross the ball or hit it long it`s as good as passing it back to the opposition.
ba would give us a bit of presence up top.

I feel like Sturridge would be better suited for us... he is younger, he is more involved in built up play and possibly more assists in him... Ba gives me the feeling he is the type of player who will shine for 1-2 seasons and then will fade drastically...
