Lionel Messi - A genius - 91 goals in 69 games in 2012

This 25 year old, 5'7, Argentinian has scored 91 goals in 69 games in 2012, eclipsing Gerd Mullers record of 85, set 40 years ago.

I often consider a 1 goal in 2 game ratio good for a striker, but Messi scored at a rate of over 1.3 goals per GAME throughout 2012.

He will win the Ballon D'Or for the fourth consecutive year in 2012, no-ones ever done that before. He's Barcelonas top scorer ever, already.

Theres a write-up on Radamel Falcao in the Sunday Times today, he scored 72 in 87 for Porto, 36 in 50 for Athletico - amazing stats but look at Messi's.

TBH I find it hard to assimilate those numbers, unbelievable, stunning, true genius. We are privileged to be able to watch this player re-write the history books.

Like to see him do it in the PL, preferably for us, the amount of chances we create and waste, he would have a field day

Messi is second only to Ferenc Puskas.

There are plenty of teams in Spain that will bully and hustle players just like stoke and there are colder windier stadiums over there as well that Messing has played in and still managed to perform his magic so this argument of him not being able to do it over here is just *****.
