We need to spend some money on someone quality like Suarez tbh. The plan was always Torres and Suarez so really if you look at it we have never replaced Torres.
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.

according to the daily mirror xabi alonso is looking to return to england, it says his representatives are already working behind the scene`s sounding people out. it didnt say if this was for a move in january or next summer or what.
oddly enough i put the liverpool channel on when i was eating my tea before and alonso was on giving an interview about gerrard getting to 600 games.
he may not fit into rodgers idea of a high energy pressing team but even at 32 or whatever he is i`d love to see him back. he never relied on pace anyway he was all about positioning and reading the game so he could probably do a job for another 4 or even 5 years.
i know the prem is quick but scholes is still doing a decent job for united and he`s slow these days.
make it happen FSG!! get him back in january!

your probably right, he`ll probably end up at arsenal or chelsea, united need a CM but i dont think he`d go there out of respect for us.
he`d link up well with his best mate arteta and cazorla in arsenals midfield but then again maybe torres and mata might convince him to go to chelsea.
i think big clubs will be deffo interested in signing him.

Alonso will be back here before all is said and done.

He loves the club, probably does not need the money now. A deal can be worked out and should be worked out. I dont care what age he is the guy is still world class.

I doubt Xabi would go to our rivals. If he's coming back to England (which I doubt) he's coming back to Liverpool.

But why would we need another midfielder? I think if it does happen, it will happen in the summer when Sahin will go back to Madrid (unfortunately, I think he won't stay with us. Alonso coming back would be a nice consolation though).

One quality striker and our starting 11 would look so much better.

                              Reina
     Johnson     Skrtel        Agger         Enrique

                      Allen        Lucas

                          Gerrard
Sterling                                     Suarez
                         Huntelaar

exactly. the way  some go on here you'd think we were a million years off been a good team when really one good striker and everyone fit makes the difference.

huntelaar isnt coming (according to the echo anyway and they are usually spot on)
i agree that side looks good but rodgers wants a different kind of front line, he wants quick, mobile players who are interchangable.
i think our frontline will look like this after january -

                                           sterling/walcott           suarez           sturridge/suso

to be fair to him al habsi does look a decent keeper (he makes some miraculous saves) but being liverpool`s keeper is a lot different than being a goalie for wigan.
every mistake at liverpool is highlighted and some players find it hard to deal with the pressure. the likes of david james and brad friedel looked great before they arrived here but then struggled at anfield.
after they left anfield their form picked up again.
a lot of it is about mentality
i think we do need a keeper though, reina may well come good again but we need a top class back up to push him all the way, besides reina`s form has been sketchy for he best part of 2 seasons now and it may not just be a dip in form.

al habsi isnt a bad stopper but overall isnt top class material.we have taken far too many players in from lower prem clubs and its slowly turning us into one of them. if we do need better quality competition for pepe then we should be looking at better than al habsi.
its a difficult thing for keepers to have to step in and perform when they are short of match time in the 1st team and most likely its only a game or two per season.
vorn is a young talented giant between the sticks and can play with his feet so if we are going to splash out on a keeper then id rather we focussed on someone like him.
anyway jones and doni are good enough back up for pepe atm and our priorities surely lie with a striker.

All good apart from swap walcott for luis

Walcott given the time will be a killer striker
