Putting Spearing in the shop window maybe?  With a box to stand on of course.

To all the doubters, Relax!!  Lot of players 1st start of the summer tonight and I suspect Rodgers was throwing them in against a sharp fit team to bring the late comers in the squad back to full fitness quicker! Wise decision in my view! Of course they're gonna be still very rusty, it was a preseason type game tonight!!

FC Gomel sounds like such an awful name for a football club. Glad we're through, though.

Gomel were like Liverpool last season, created lots of chances but fail to  convert them and hitting the woodwork as well. And we were lucky to get away with a win. Our defence was terrible and had we played a top side in the PL, we would have been slaughtered with that kind of defending. Liverpool do have a lot of work to do indeed before they can play like how BR wants.

Guess we are bracing for another challanging season..... losing to a bottom feeder european team would have made a terrible impact on our renewed efforts at restoring our glory days....It's evident with all spent and done we are missing some game changers and some real quality players which demand the ball and control tempo of play....Their are no inspiring players in our midfield.

Only caught the first half, where we looked clueless.  I was amazed it was still 0-0 at half time and surprised to log in after the match to see we'd nicked it.  Obviously, there's still plenty of rust to work through with the lads and playing actual competitive matches against a team that's been through earlier qualifying rounds will do us wonders in the long run.  I'm sure we'll look sharper when Aunt Gornall or whatever they're called turn up at Anfield. :D

BR said there's still a lot of work to do and what worries me now is how are we going to manage our first 3 home games against the top 3 sides from last season? Will we be destroyed by them in front of our own crowd?

technically speaking he just wrote one letter and posted it on the internet. but who am i to quibble?  :D

rodgers is no fool. i'm sure he was well aware how much hodgson harmed himself with his stupid comments about the fans, and about just how much influence the liverpool fanbase has in general.

i remember a time we played poor games away from home in Europe and came home to win the second leg.... gettin real fed up of these new age glory hunters that seem to forget that was the first 'competitive' game of what could be a very long season. New boss, new ideas - but we've come back from there with an old time Liverpool result. Get with it, an quit thinkin we're gonna win every game by a country mile ffs, we're a million miles from there but slowly workin towards it.

Stu Averill, a wannabe Scouse/Scot. I remember the good times & have faith in them comin back

Beside the Hillsborough Flame, I heard a Koppite mournin, "Why so many taken on that day?" Justice has never been done. But their memory we'll carry on. There'll be Glory Round The Fields Of Anfield Road
