meanwhile we are looking at paying £15m for allen and £10m for dempsey.
it`s no wonder we are going backwards.

We ain't got a chance in hell of landing players like RVP though so it's a mute argument.  Plus he'd be worth closer to £40m if his contract wasn't running down and they're not forced to sell him. Allen is £15m as he's not for sale & is young & British. As for Dempsey I agree that he should be nowhere worth £10m as the situation with his contract is the same as RVP's, £6-£8m tops is what I'd pay for him

Dont know how true but rumour going around that liverpool have bid 15 million for olympiakos Mirralas with suso going the other way not sure if its loan or permanent

Allen certainly looks as though he has the energy and tempo to attack, something our pedestrian midfield lacked last year. Could be a decent buy this.

it's not the BIG signing some were demanding but he looks a decent addition to the team, his play style suits Rodgers plan for us. great buy in fact.

I hope you're right. I was really hoping though that Henderson would do the job and we wouldn't have to buy another CM. But right now, we don't have anyone who's really adept at connecting the midfield and the attack line - which Allen looks good at doing. Even Gerrard looks average playing CM, so perhaps we could even play a midfield of Allen, Lucas and Henderson and have Gerrard behind Suarez and Borini. Let's see what happens.

maybe he's not planning on gerrard been around for long? maybe he's looking to sort this team out without basing it around Gerrard. just my 2p worth

Will be a good signing but very expensive and a gamble. We still need a proper winger and I'd rather we concentrated our money for a player of that position, unless we are planning to play like the above comment (kartiek) suggests:

            Hendo(Aquilani)                      Allen(Adam)

                                 Gerrard(Shelvey)


                        Borini(Carroll)  Suarez(Bellamy)


I don't expect this, because I expect Aqilani (along with Cole) to leave and maybe Adam as well, but considering Roger's style of play, this could be a good formation.

Dont know much about Allen but my only concern is Rodgers is going a bit
route one transfer wise with these boys from Swansea.

I understand picking up people from former clubs but he didnt come in from
Barcelona.

Not having a right go just hope the next couple show a bit more imagination
and variety thats all.

is there a player involved in the deal or is it straight cash?
