Andy Carroll: Newcastle make loan offer to Liverpool

Newcastle have made a bid to sign Liverpool striker Andy Carroll on loan, with a view to a permanent move.

We have just thrown away 20mil then

I must say that even though I'm not the biggest fan of Andy, I feel for the lad in this situation.

He was just beginning to look decent and I think he was working hard to get more opportunities here. This has to be a huge confidence dampener for the lad, besides spoiling his relationship with BR, which I don't think BR did any favours either when he came out and publicly said that he'd open to loan moves for his players.

It does seem though that Liverpool are actively trying to sell Andy but the lad thinks he deserves a chance and doesn't want to leave just yet. If we get 20 million for him, we sell him straight up. But no one is probably ready to spend that much on him.

Whatever be the result, this has to be the worst investment Liverpool has ever made.

I really don't understand why we can't hold on to him for another year and see what happens.

It's such stupid to loan him, depreciate his value, and not even get to know if he can fit our system. What's up with us loaning out first team prospects?

And that to that club that basically screwed us over a little more than a year ago?

We did it to ourselves. Noone forced us to buy him, and especially not at that price.

Rodgers has said nothing though. If he's as good as his word, then he's NOT going to say anything in public until *A* deal is done one way or another. IF, that is, he's serious about LFC doing its business behind closed doors.
Isn't Carroll still on holiday somewhere anyway ?
If it *IS* true that we are touting Carroll for sale or on loan, then I personally find Rodgers' tactics appalling

Rodgers came out in the press praising Suarez beyond belief , begged Maxi to stay and the same with Bellamy yet nothing for Carroll

My point, mate. It beggars belief how disrespectful he has been. By NOT saying anything about Carroll, by being so arrogant about it, by not even looking at him in training.....it's just pig ignorant.

because of this documentary thing they are making fox would probably know, so it wouldnt surprise me if it`s true.
i guess it looks like brendan`s got the player he`s always wanted so we should be happy for him.

not sure 11 is exactly a bargain.  I'd be thrilled to have him, but we need to keep our hands on this deal, unlike some of our past transfers.

I'm sorry but Dempsey isn't the ideal player we should be looking for.
