With the huge amounts of money in football, players will demand their share of it. Its big clubs like liverpool that have pushed football in this direction so we better get used to it.

We offered a low wage and the player went elsewhere - not really ***** is it.

An extra 10 grand is what they offered. We offered 30-40 grand for the first season and a performance related pay rise to 50 during the second season - Spurs offered the 50 straight away.

I want to keep on being deluded like most and believe it won't matter if we strengthen at all as we will make top 4 anyways...

We have too many higher earners at the club and the wage bill needs reduced.

Move on now siggurdssons a spurs player.

If we didnt want him why did we try to get him?

we were linked with talks for him when he seemd to be available at a decent price and decent wage.

i think he had a decent few games for swansea but don't think he's performed at a high level long enough to warrant the demands he made for wages.

i just hope BR has others lined up that made him not push to much for him rather than he's not got the funds available to go get players he wants.

what about this rumour of Carroll to AC Milan?

if we dont pay wages then we dont have much hope of success.the big names will cost high wages and when the ones we get on the cheap do come good another club will walk right in and double what we are paying him.
its not a win win situation.
im a bit gutted that we lost out to fooking spurs for a player because they will pay better than liverpool .
it will be interesting to see who we do sign in this window and listening to rodgers comments that "he will look to add 3-4 players and its not just anyone that can come to liverpool and make a difference" leads me to hope that something decent is in the offing.

We agreed a fee with his club and offered him a contract - does that not suggest we wanted him

in Benny's world we should just chuck loadsa money at any player that looks tidy. we'd be fuk'd in 2 seasons if we did. stoopid.

and big surprise that n@b jockey Penguins jumps in when Benny has some confrontation.

Ok maybe I should rephrase it if we wanted him that bad we would have got him.

He wanted to play under Brendan but also wanted higher wages. We can offer more money than Tottenham we just didn't think it was worth it.

We will go on and sign a player on at least 50,000 a week but only if they will make us that much stronger
