Seriously though, red top are designed to sell as many papers to the mug public as possible. They aren't renown for accuracy or truth.

Thing is deep down we know majority of the stories are rubbish but it doesnt
stop you looking for them and wondering.

For one thing its great fun looking for the stories and reading speculation
especially this time of year and with a new manager.

Lets not forget that a few of these tales will actually be accurate

where did you find that out? can't seem to find any reports of that on the net

if so and it was for money then i’m pleased (heard that he’s asking for 75k) just hope it wasn’t because we are moving to slow

Last I’d heard that both we and Tottenham had agreed a fee of £8mil with Hoffenheim for Sigurdsson but Spurs have offered him 15-25K more a week and Sigurdsson’s dad said he’ll make a decision over this weekend.

That's why i can't find it - i refuse to use twitter

The problem is that the major media outlets are desperate to keep up so now selectively use Twitter as a source, including Sky.

I got the news from Ssn and to the person who said he was thinking about the deals over the weekend how is that possible when he has a deadline of tommorow to find a club

Why can't we get both? They are different types of player.

How can Spurs sign him when they don't even have a manager?

Same as Hazard when Chelsea was manager less  also avb will be spurs manager by Sunday so he will probably have spoke to levy

Either they have some idea of who their new manager's going to be in which case they may have asked him for their opinion on Sigurdsson and have taken the decision to bid for him with that in mind, or the more likely scenario, which is that they consider him too good a player to miss out on and are confident that the new manager will want to work with him. It's not ideal but these are the pressures a club faces when it parts company with a manager during the transfer window without having a replacement to step in straight away. 

For my part, I rate the kid. He's a technically gifted midfield playmaker who's created and scored some brilliant goals over the years. He was player of the season at Reading, Hoffenheim and was arguably Swansea's best midfielder last season, and is still only 22. If he was British, the fee would be at least double what it is.
