Terry is looking more and more the weak link in the team now, needs to put his boots up......with a bit of luck he will stick them up his own butt hole.

John Terry for me has been one of the most over rated defenders of his time.  He has never been anywhere near the level he has been built up to be.

that was some header by the big fella, it was a real throwback to the days of tommy lawton and nat lofthouse. england made hard work of it but they got the result in the end and in tournament football that`s all that matters. terrible keeping by the swedish goalie for walcotts goal though, it was just a speculative effort that should have been a routine save, f##king awful keeping.

Who cares? we won !

For so long watching England has been boring as sin as its the usual tripe in the starting line up, but this tournament has me fascinated, with regards to England. When we went 2-1 down I was genuinely gutted, normally im laughing, but not tonight. So when we won it was a relief. Get rid of Terry and we have a very good future regarding our national team.

i actually want england to do well myself, mainly because gerrard is the captain and so many liverpool players are in the squad. if we dont get out of the group stages you just know the press will be saying `why has hodgson taken 6 players from a team that finished 8th in the league?` and all that type of *****. infact it`s being said now, everytime you put the radio on there is some whopper from down south moaning about why the likes of carroll, hendo, downing and kelly are over in poland while the likes of michael carrick, daniel sturridge, micah richards etc are sat in england.

Just saw the game. Nerves are a bit shot.

I thought Gerrard had a great first half but the second half he was disappointing, to me he doesn't look as though he has the energy to physically and mentally perform at 100% for 90 mins. I hope he recovers quick enough for the next match - apparently his recovery time between games has always taken longer than others. He'll be f.ucked for us next season.

Johnson did okay, I thought (don't know for sure) that he was supposed to be marking Ollberg? for Sweden's second goal and he played Sweden onside for the first. Still, he put in a couple of vital tackles and isn't as bad a "defender" as people make out - I rate him even though he had a couple of blips.

Carroll, Superb header there and the assist from Stevie was good. Carroll did well, for me he was better than Wellbeck but it was the United lad who got the all important goal.

James Milner is f.ucking gnash - both Chamberlin and Walcott should be ahead of that turd.

Gerrard is trying to do too much, but he simply doesn't have the energy any more. He is still a better captain than the tripe we have had.

Milner, what the hell? how is he in the team?

Hopefully Roy, who for me has done fantastic so far will see what needs to be done.

On a side note, Spain made over 800 passes in the other nights game. The only way England could make that many is if they enter Wayne Rooney in Mastermind.  :D

England impressed me, not through their ability, but the fact that when they went 2-0 down they never let their heads drop and came right back into it. They thoroughly deserved their 3-2 win. Critics like myself who expected to see more of an attacking approach by Hodgson were put squarely in our place.

Theo Walcott must be thinking "I've got to be in the starting line up against Ukraine". 1 goal and 1 assist in less time on the pitch than James Milner. Ashley Young looks completely out of his depth at International level. James Milner is a center-midfielder all day long, he's not a winger and shouldn't be played there. The fact he does for City simply shows that they've got more than enough strength in that position. And with the way England play Milner might have to slot in there, because I can see Gerrard or Parker getting injured, especially if England are going to give the lion share of possession to Ukraine on Tuesday.

As for our players, I was delighted to see Carroll start and then score, I hope he takes much confidence from that goal and I hope he starts against Ukraine. If he can start scoring on a consistent basis at these Euro's, it bodes well for us on his return. G.Johnson was okay, nothing special, was at fault for the first goal, not sure about the second, I'd be inclined to say that Terry and Lescott should have done better aswell.

Gerrard was great in the first half and the fizzled out in the second, I think he'll have to be a bit-part player for now on because I can't see him playing 40 odd games a season anymore without suffering from sheer exhaustion or picking up injuries again.

Delighted to see Ibrahimovic going home, that's one nasty individual and not just that he's dog ugly as well, his face put me off my beer last night.

Hopefully the Swedes can do something positive and hold France to a draw on Tuesday, while England beat Ukraine to advance to the QF.

He's just so petulant it's unreal.

Apparently Joe Hart shoved Elmander on a previous set piece (corner I think) and Zlatan just had to tell Hart off and what's more is that at another set piece (a corner I believe), Zlatan walked into Joe Hart's goal, picked up his water bottle and drank from it.

What a great goal by Gerrard and Carroll. A f*cking hell of a cross that was from Gerrard and a great header by Andy at the end of it. Good game by both of them and I hope they can bring that back to Liverpool.
As for Milner, even Downing should start ahead of him, he's that bad. Though I don't think Walcott should be a starter. Against Sweden he came in when most of their players were tired, and with his speed we took advantage of that. I think Walcott is best used as an impact sub.

Don't you mean when they went 2-1 down

Yes, Benny, that's exactly what I meant. I'd like to thank you for correcting me.

Russia were the shock exit last night, delighted for Greece to be going through though. After all the sh*t the country is going through, it's a huge boost to the country, I just hope they don't go onto win it.  :grinning:

Portugal vs Netherlands tonight, Germany vs Denmark. I fully expect Portugal and Holland to play out a 1-1 draw, though I've yet to get any of my predictions right, I'd like Holland to win and Denmark to get a draw, so Denmark and Germany will go through, but knowing Portugal they'll probably beat Holland and go through with the Germans.

The Greeks are shocking - anti football I call it , all the acting and diving and rolling around on the floor - led wonderfully in that department by Karagounis - it should be goal difference first that determine teams on the same points. Watching Greece is like watching a team full of Drogba's or Pepe's
