EXCLUSIVE: Tottenham target Mourinho

Published 22:30 16/03/12

Tottenham will throw everything at Jose Mourinho to try to entice him to the club if manager Harry Redknapp quits.

Spurs are attempting to put the block on further speculation linking Redknapp to the vacant England post, but while chairman Daniel Levy will drive a hard bargain if and when FA chiefs come knocking on his door, Mourinho will be his prime target.

The Special One has made it clear he plans to quit as Real Madrid coach at the end of the season and the Mirror revealed earlier this month that he has agreed to buy a new family home in London.

Mourinho, who flew into London on a whistle-stop trip on Friday, has let it be known that he wants to return to the Premier League, and Spurs and his former club Chelsea are the obvious options.

he could very well go there too.
clever move by levy, get a big name manager in who will build a good team, get a regular cl spot, maybe push for the league or win a few cups and raise the profile of the club in the process.
all this on top of a brand spanking new stadium as well :eyebrow

Then you're too biased to comment. Logically he's the perfect man to take Spurs to the next level. Clubs cn raise money, the balls in their court to convince Maurice their serious.

Im not keen on Maureen either but in hindsight, he is the only manager who has managed to shut up alex ferguson. Ferguson isnt even in the same league as Maureen when it comes to manipulating the press and mind games.
Bill Shankly: “I was the best manager in Britain because I was never devious or cheated anyone. I’d break my wife’s legs if I played against her, but I’d never cheat her.”

There isn't a chance on earth mourinho would go to spurs. He is an arrogant git and with the spending power city have got he just wouldn't risk not winning anything.
