Think i have gone off films over the last few years, there just dont seem to be many good ones about, most just feel the same and i start looking for the FF button.

I tend to go back to the old films, a lot of 80's  to mid 90's.
The last few good films have been things like Harry potter, the inbetweeners....and thats all i can think of.

this is coming from someone that owns over 1000 films on video and dvd.

for me Inception was the best movie in recent times... The last 3 Harry Potter films were a disappointment... Transformer sequels were a disappointment even though the first one was quite entertaining... and I can't think of a reason why twilight is so successful :glare:  ... the dark knight was not too bad. Terminator salvation was meh... the Greek mythological films like Clash of the Titans, the immortals were meh... the Avatar was also meh... In Time had a great premise but lost its plot after a promising start... not to mention timberlake's acting was weak...

I think the art of making good movies is lost with all the special effects... hopefully the dark knight rises is good...

I think in the last few years I have just got fed up with the same old stories, it tends to be...

a love film where one of them dies
A child dies
man chases another man for killing his wife or child

or twilight where they act like they just need a good fart.

I know theres only so many film Film genres and they are all a twist on them but for me most have fallen flat.

Contraband was good enough, worth a watch. Not spectacular though.

Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing

:nod , one of those "could have been " movies. I did enjoy the action down in Panama section but overall the film was a bit "ho hum I've seen this all before", maybe we watch too many movies ?  :D

Just watched Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.

When it seems good movies of any genre are hard to find these days, this action movie is quite refreshing with it's entertainment. I really enjoyed this, very good flick and worth a watch.

8.5/10

I agree it was a good movie but the Dark Knight was an awesome film, RIP Heath Ledger, brilliant actor.

Watched it the other week,, good movie as far as action films go.

Normally I don't have much time for Tom Cruise but he went up in my estimation after I saw a promo for "Ghost Protocol" about the making of the film. All those scenes at that mile high hotel in Dubai are real action not cgi, Cruise did all the stunts himself, jumping out the window and running around the outside of the hotel suspended only by some wires. Don't think there's many actors that would have taken it on.

If you haven't seen it clicky ---> making ghost protocol hotel stunt

I must agree ghost protocol was pretty good, as good as the first Tom Cruise MI. despite the fact that cruise is a bit of a weirdo and the fact that he became popular as a heartthrob,I must say he is one of the few remaining true actors... He can always make his character convincing and he is also quite multidimensional. Did you guys see his cameo in tropic thunder? Also his performance in interview with the vampire was amazing..,

From what I've seen in interviews with Cruise, I actually prefer his actors' personalities than the man himself. Great actor though.
