Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Hang on a minute, haven't we created the most chances in the league, had the most shots and hit the woodwork 18 times in 20 games?

Im not a fan of Downing, especially when he gets thrown on the right. He must have no confidence on his right foot what so ever.

Don't heap all our woes on the lad, give him a break! :)

That isnt the case at all. Andy Carroll is being blamed, as is Downing, as is Henderson, as is Adam.

I think what is being realised is the fact that everyone pinned the blame solely on Carroll, when the fact is, he has received little to no service.

When Gerrard returned, he put the crosses in, and the passes and already we saw a much improved performance from Carroll.

The signings, to me at least have proved one thing. That british players are over priced and over rated.

This is from FourFourTwo magazine

Why would they lie?

No Idea but I'm happy to stake money that he put crosses into the box - he even put one in with his right foot which was cleared at the near post .

Somes up Benny and Downing quite well !!!!  :D

Just a massive shame that it has taken twenty one games to change! Downing just doesn't do the good stuff often enough and that is why his stats are poor. The occasional flash of excellence simply is not adequate at this level.

He has proved himself at this level before many times - he just needs time to settle into a big club . Paitence .

Talking of LEVEL

Consider that Downing looked good in this game because maybe finally he was playing against a team at his LEVEL.   :nod

Well done Stewart. You scored a goal. Against Oldham. In the last min.

We all have to start somewhere and I really hope this is the start of a good run he can go on now.

We will see.
