Eden Hazard.

Somebody we have no chance of signing.

This Bent link is a bit concerning really. I know the lad has goals in him but his style really would fly in the face of what we seem to be looking to achieve as a unit with a composed passing game. Bent likes the ball over the top really so I do hope its just rumour let alone the vast amount he would cost.

Hoping it's a bit of a smoke screen and we're really going after somebody else.  If we were seeing we're going after this player and this player only, the other club would feel they had a lot of power with the price.  But if we say we're going after these few players, then knowing we have other options will help drag the price down.

Let's just hope at least, because 24 for Bent is ridiculous. I wouldn't mind bent maybe, but I'm not really sure.

Ive seen him play in person for the Galaxy a couple times since I live just over an hour from the stadium.  He came to MLS thinking speed would make him the best goal scorer to ever play in the MLS (Henry thought the same at first as well).  He didn't realize that the MLS is better than most think, and he didn't look all that great.  He looked like a good MLS player, but I don't think he'd cut it at all in the prem anymore.  He's forgot how to do anything except run straight down the field as fast as he can.  Even when it didn't work.

Is Liverpool flop Andy Carroll on his way back to Newcastle?

Source 'close to the player' claims he wants to  return to Magpies on a loan deal   Wed 4 Jan 2012

AS BOMBSHELLS go it's a big one, but according to Talksport Liverpool striker Andy Carroll could be about to move back to Newcastle. The stunning claim involves Liverpool loaning Carroll to the Magpies for the rest of the season, a year after he made a £35m move to Anfield.

Since then Carroll's career has followed the same trajectory as another professional Geordie, former songbird Cheryl Cole, with the big frontman netting just five times for the Reds, a strike rate which works out at an average of £7m a goal.

Talksport attributes its exclusive to a "source close to the player" and says Carroll – who turns 23 on Friday – is angling for a move back to the north-east, having become  "unsettled" on Merseyside. Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has made no secret of the fact he still covets Carroll and he admitted last week: "I'd take him back if I had the chance."

With Liverpool – who lost 3-0 to Manchester City on Tuesday evening – being linked with a move for Aston Villa striker Darren Bent this month, Talksport's scoop might well turn out to be true.

Darren Bent, I really can't see him being the answer. I don't think Carroll and Suarez can play together tho so I'd cut the losses on Carroll. I wouldn't be happy getting involved in another loan fiasco ala Aquilani tho
