He should be our regular corner taker from now on as last night proved. If Gerrard starts taking corners again at the weekend I will quite literally tear my hair out (if I had any). Mereiles put more corners into a decent area last night than Gerrard has in two years.

I noticed that, his corners, freekicks are a lot more accurate than Gerrards, This fella is turning into quite some player, My favourite player since Kenny took over,

I can't wait to him, Gerrard, Suarez and big Andy play together we will be alot better than last night that's for sure.

Class act i hope he takes or corners aswell id rather have Gerrard in the box hes one of our taller players and has a good head on him. I reckon if hed forget his ego and left better crosses of the ball to deal with corners hed probally have alot more headed goals to his name.

Class Act? I wouldn't rush to this conclusion..He has to many sloppy moments ,his goals in my opinion should be regarded as extra only ,he has a much more important role on the field and this is moving the balls deeply into enemies ground ,he is yet to stamp his presence in Anfield. Squad player in my opinion.

Said that years ago but minus the pyscho babble about Gerrards ego.

Deadball situations are usually pre-assigned and aren't just left  to some "egotist" grabbing the ball and insisting they take it.

Can do without the dig at Gerrard for doing what he's been assigned to.

Even when we had Alonso Gerrard was taking far to many corners. Im sure the same will happen now we have Miereles. Id put Aurelio ahead of him aswell when it comes to corner kick duties.

Oops!

Really?
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

Still would rather see him in midfield instead of Stevie, sadly I think Stevie is declining he doesn't have the pace to make those runs from deep in midfield anymore imo.  We need to play him higher up the pitch.

we will miss him now if he is injured:( .
stevie still has it in him and i dont think he is on the decline, fair enough he is ageing and has been unlucky with injuries this year but he still is a class player.we expect too much from him and complain when he doesent tear teams apart like he used too.
our whole midfield and defense were bad today and if they werent gerrard would have the luxury of playing further up the pitch and not back trying to plug holes that westham were exploiting.
he cant defeat entire teams on his own same as he cant defend them either.
