Why?

because he's not suited to the English game. He's also lightweight and very injury prone.

Personally, i think he's one of the worst signings we've ever made and to bring him back would be a huge mistake. Lets use the fact he's in good form in Italy to get some of our money back. Otherwise, if he returns, struggles again, we'll get nothing back.

He didnt struggling though. When he got fit he was a major assest to us, scored goals set them up and got afew MOTM. All in his settling in period. Meireles is far more lightweight then Aqua so if you think he can make it in the prem then so can Aqua. Wouldnt argue that moving him on would be the best thing but only if we got the money hes worth. Otherwise i cant see how having a player of Aquas ability in the squad would be a bad thing.

I thought Raul was another star uptop today, works for the cause and ghosts into the box, united couldn't pick his runs up.

Well in Raul.

Only thing that worries me about Raul is his overall fitness levels. Everytime the clock hits 60 mins, Raul is taking deep breaths and struggling to keep up with play. Putting that aside he's been brilliant for us this season.

Liverpool midfielder Raul Meireles has been named the ESPN PFA Fans' Player of the Year, an award voted for by Premier League supporters.

Meireles, 28, endured a difficult start to life at Anfield, seemingly struggling to adapt to life in English football after Roy Hodgson signed him from Porto last summer.

But under Kenny Dalglish the Portuguese international has flourished, scoring five goals since the turn of the year. All of those strikes came in an impressive six-game run, which helped lift the Reds from the Premier League doldrums and nto contenders for European qualification.

A dominant and dynamic box-to-box midfielder, Meireles has emerged as a key figure for Dalglish's Liverpool and his excellent work-rate, range of passing and ability to make himself a nuisance in the opposition's penalty area should see him continue to shine next season.

Meireles, who won the February ESPN PFA Fans' Player of the Month award, beat off stiff competition from fellow monthly winners Samir Nasri (October, December, January), Dimitar Berbatov (September), Fernando Torres (November) and David Luiz (March).

becomng a bit of a concern lately. I'm not convinced he should be a permanent fixture in our side next season...He just sin't offering anything defensively or going forward at the moment
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

He isn't a wide midfielder Greavsie, its no coincidence that we have seen a dip in form when he was put on the wings. Before that, when he was playing more centrally he was scoring goals and playing some good passes, now he seems lost out wide. I think Kenny sees this as a temporary thing because of the injuries we have. Plus, he looks jaded recently, he played a lot of games this season

hope so mate, we should see genuine wingers come in in the summer then we can see him become a regular fixture where he plays naturally. His form is worrying at the moment either way though. Everytime he got the ball today I just wasn't expecting him to do much with it, and he barely let me down unfortunately

Class Act? I wouldn't rush to this conclusion..He has to many sloppy moments ,his goals in my opinion should be regarded as extra only ,he has a much more important role on the field and this is moving the balls deeply into enemies ground ,he is yet to stamp his presence in Anfield. Squad player in my opinion.

just dipped into this topic as I saw it was popped up there with recent comments.  Onlyme - you are the most negative poster i have ever seen.  Also, you know exactly nothing about football.  Have you ever actually SEEN a live game and tracked a player's progress.  i doubt it.  Whenever I see your posts I prepare myself for a good laugh.

Not impressed with him today.  I worry he's not the man for the job.  He played really well for a while but has died off.  At this point I'd rather have Adam.  Meireles struggles near the ends of games, can't seem to catch his breath and he's extremely inconsistent.

he gets put on the wing and he ISN'T a winger. Always plays best in the middle of the park and will shine even more next season when we have 2 wingers   :nod

It is plain to see that Miereles is a sh'ithouse
Very good talented player but sh'its out of tackles every game and will probably never change. Yet people accept that he can play in our league but say Aquilani couldnt cope
Very strange...

His form is indifferent I think but I thought he had a sound game against Newcastle.
