Hopefully yesterday has highlighted the need for some reinforcements at the back.

Caroll scored a goal that shouldn't of been disallowed. There where a lot of  players that could have done better, especially 2nd half.

Think we need to question if our pre-season was good enough coz everyone looked knackered after 60 mins
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

we've got a trio of new strikers in the youth squad - Marco Bueno, Nacho and Victorien Angban.

only thing is we will lose a striker... our firepower is getting less and less...

Suarez, Carroll, Kuyt, Pacheco, Suso, Amoo, Gerrard, Aquilani, Adam, Maxi, Downing, Sterling, Mereiles, Cole...

I think there are enough goal scorers in the club without N'gog. Maybe not all tested at the top level, maybe not all 1st choice players but we can manage without N'gog I think.

Especially considering we won't have European football this season.  I think Kuyt would be (have been?) ahead of Ngog in the pecking order anyway so no big loss if it happens.

And if Carroll and Kuyt get injured, we are majorly screwed without protection...

I'm not saying I don't want us to buy a new striker. I'm saying that we probably don't need to. Yes, half the team could get struck by lightening or something, that is the risk inherent in sports. However, in the real world you have so much money to spend and you need to make decisions about where is the greatest need.

You say, what if Carroll and Kuyt are both injured? Well I'd be happy to play this formation against Chelsea, Man U, Man City:

           Lucas       Meireles
Gerrard       Adam          Downing
                  Suarez

And have some up and coming youngsters on the bench.

Tell me, what do you do if any two of Carra, Agger and Skrtel are injured? Do you really want us to play Kyriagkos or Wilson against Chelsea, Man U, Man City?

I rest my case  :p

If there is enough money for a top quality CB and striker - I'm not complaining. But if not, I'd much rather we get a top quality CB and miss out on a new striker, than get another average CB and another average striker.

That's what I'm concerned about the most... Suarez cannot lead the line... he's a second striker not a CF... with a front line like that we wouldn't be able to score any goals with park the bus teams... all they need to do is mark Suarez out of the game...

Easier said than done.. also I would rather face the top team with this set up rather than have no back up CB and have to face them

Seems to have gone quiet in the Cahill/Dann/Shawcross stories again?  Anyone heard anything

LOL Robbie Keane has signed for LA Galaxy, "I've always wanted to come and play in MLS."

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

To clarify, yes Robbie Keane did use the words "dream come true" on joining the LA Galaxy.
