OptaAnfield Opta Anfield
Hopefully, if reports are to be believed, Enrique signs for #LFC for Saturday's opener v Sunderland. #YNWA

FourFourTom FourFourTom
A lot of people saying "If it's 100% done why haven't they finalised it" - #NUFC won't leave themself without a LB. Season starts in 2 days.

good news at least, reckon we'll get a centre back in before the window closes?
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

A lot of mixed reports on Dann mate, a lot are saying Dann will be a Liverpool player by next week, others are saying he will be an Arsenal player once Fabregas signs for Barcelona

Thats good news then. To be honest we've not done bad this window.

Henderson
Adam
Downing
Doni
Enrique

and lets not forget Aqua, him now wanting to stay and be part of Kenny's set up must be like having a new signing for Kenny.

Not impressed with Enrique, very suspect at the back and only ok going forward, if we were serious about getting the best players in the country Baines is the one we should be after!

Would u honestly put Enrique in the same bracket as Baines, Ashley Cole and Patrice Evra??? No chance!!

My preference:

Rotate Aurelio and Robinson - as we dont have as many games due to no European football!

Ship Skrtel and buy Scott Dann instead!

Evra has been awful for the past 12 months. He had a shocker last season.

Anyway Sky Sports reporting the deal is almost done now. £6m fee agreed.

Enrique is a very good player and is far superior to anything we have at left back hence the purchase. He can defend and get forward and run with the ball and will make a massive difference to our left side with Downing in tandem. The club can only purchase players that are available and or want to come so pulling names from a hat of footballers that are clearly not in either bracket is a waste of time.

Great deal @ £6m and we now have a very solid LB. The stats say he is one of the best in the league!

I do wish we went for Baines as well but he plays for Everton, our rivals, which in turn means the cost would be exorbitant.

I don't care about how he is going forward as long as he defends well. If he is anything like Finnan or Arbeloa, I would be delighted.
