Got a lot of family and friends who are Celtic fans and they rave about this guy. Watched him yesterday vs Rangers and he looks a decent player. Only thing he lacks a bit of is physical presence as he is quite small. Reminds me of Evra a bit.

My preference remains Enrique but this guy would do a job.

If he can cope with physical of spl then he'll be alright down here. I've watched Celtic a few times this year and he has stood out as one of best players. Great going forward, not really tested yet defensively. Very evra like! So, if kk can get him cheap, then a great acquisition.

It comes as no surprise that just about every major English club would be interested in signing striker Connor Wickham after the 17-year-old netted the title-winning goal against Spain in last summer's UEFA European Under-17 Championships.

What may be somewhat surprising, however, is that Spurs are considered the favorite to land the 6-foot-3 rising star, despite the fact that he has grown up a Liverpool supporter and the club is clearly interested.

Damien Comolli was on hand to watch Wichham play for Ipswich against Hull this past Saturday, but he wasn't the only interested observer, as Harry Redknapp sent his top scouts to Portman Road as well.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are, of course, also monitoring the situation, though The People reports that Wickham is likely to sign with Spurs for upwards of £10 million, and Daily Mail has quoted the potential fee in the £12million range.

Sunderland was the first club to come to Ipswich with a cash offer, but their bid of just £5 million was dismissed immediately.

In truth, while Wickham is a Liverpool supporter, signing a young center forward may not be the top priority at Anfield, with Andy Carroll in the picture. Spurs, on the other hand, are in desperate need of striking talent, meaning that Redknapp may be willing to go the furthest to acquire Wickham's services.

Wickham, however, may not be expected to make an immediate impact, as it is also rumored that if he were to sign with Spurs, he would be kept at Portman Road on loan next season.

Didn't he get a hatrick the other day? I thought he played well against Arsenal considering he was playing out of position. Looks a real worker him. Fk Lukaku, id be really happy if we got Wickham.

A lot of really really young players have been getting a lot of hype lately... only so many of them can actually turn into the superstars people want. Oxlade-Chamberlain, Lukaka, Wickham. It's risky business to me. As I see it, if they are older than 20 and have been playing well for more than a season in an established league, it's probably worth the risk. Otherwise, very risky business.

Liverpool are lining up a bid to sign Inter Milan attacker Goran Pandev as the Serie A side look to offload the Macedonian international for a fee of around €10 (£8.4m) as the Anfield side look to beef up their attacking options.

The powerfully built 27 year old is apparently reticent to leave the San Siro but new boss Leonardo is keen to sell the former Lazio man and along with interest from Liverpool it has been reported that Harry Redknapp is also looking to bring Pandev to the Premier League.

Goran Pandev was brought to Inter Milan by former boss Jose Mourinho in January 2010 and was a regular last term following the move and helped the Nerazzurri to another Serie A triumph as well as a Champions League triumph, making 22 starts in the process. However under Rafa Benitez and new boss Leonardo his first team chances have diminished greatly and the arrival of Giampaolo Pazzini from Sampdoria last month further limits his chances, hence the interest forming for his services.

Whilst never a prolific goalscorer there is more to Pandev's game than finishing as he does a great deal of hold up work and he appears to be the kind of experienced player that Liverpool are looking for to add further options up front following the signings of Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez in January.

Wouldnt want him, he turned us down when he was on a Bosman now hes not getting it all his own way at his preferred destination and maybe wants us to bail him out....................no chance. He aint good enough anyway

Other than young back up strikers for the future you can forget rumours about any big named strikers coming in as it is my understanding that we will be going back in for Karim Benzema in the summer. What a front 3 that would be

Yeh that would be special, although i wouldnt be suprised to see a Lavezzi or Turan type of player that can operate wih Suarez and Mierles behind Carroll

Pandev is a decent player but ya, I don't see him fitting to well. Benzema has been scoring like every single goal for RM lately so I can't really see them getting rid of him at the moment. Obviously Higuain is injured right now, but I dunno.

Liverpool step up chase for new Vieira

Liverpool have stepped up their pursuit of the Rennes midfielder described as the 'new Patrick Vieira' - Yann M'Vila.

The all-action Frenchman has been on Liverpool's radar ever since the arrival of Damien Comolli as director of sporting strategy.

And, according to reports in France, Comolli has sent scouts to watch M'Vila in Rennes' last three fixtures - and has received glowing reports.

Now Liverpool could be ready to sanction a summer bid for the 20-year-old, who is also a target for Juventus, AC Milan and Atletico Madrid.

But, with M'Vila under contract until June 2013, it is reported that Liverpool will have to pay upwards of £10m to land their man.
