Jose Enrique linked again in the media today. Not seen a lot of him what I have has impressed me. Strong, good defender who can also get forward.

Hopefully we sign him up in the summer.

Well we desperately need a new LB this summer seeing as Aurelio can't keep fit, Konchesky is shabite and neither Johnson nor Wilson (or Agger for that matter) are actual LBs. Enrique wouldn't be a bad choice at all as he is very familiar with the english game and has done well here. Furthermore he's still only about 25 years old and come summer will not have more than a year left on his contract iirc. So I say go get him indeed (although Coentrao would be my favourite choice, but he'll be very very expensive I reckon).

agree.

My first choice would be Fabio Coentrao (Benfica, 22 years old)

after him comes:

Taye Taiwo (Marseille, 25) and Jose Enrique (Newcastle, 25)

I just dont know if we'd get Coentrao without the draw of champions leaguie football, considering a lot of teams are interested in him

I'm wondering what happens to Johnson when we do buy a left back?  I mean talking about this when Rh was here, I would have said get rid of the little feck, but under Kenny I really feel like he has been a huge asset.  If he moved back to Rb then what happens to Kelly? If we keep playing Kelly he's going to be one of the best RB in the prem within the next couple years.

We really need a right and left winger, Preferably Ashley Cole maybe.  Elia looks like a duplicate of Babel so I'm not too keen on him.  N'zogbia would actually be a decent signing too, tho before I saw him against us I didn't want him at all.

Werder Bremen look like they may be getting relegated this year.  Per Mertesacker and Marko Marin are way too good to be playing in the 2. Bundesliga.  If that happens, we should definitely go after those 2.  Mertesacker is a great CB and Marko Marin is a really decent winger/striker.

Johnson can play on the left or right wing. No way should we let him go.

Liverpool to Begin Summer Squad Rebuilding With £16.8m Move for Wing Wonder

Galatasaray star finally set to make Anfield move?

Liverpool will this summer hope to lure Galatasaray’s highly regarded attacker Arda Turan to Merseyside. Anfield boss Kenny Dalglish and director of football Damien Comolli have earmarked a move for the adaptable playmaker as they seek to bring in effective creative options to help boost the club’s attacking prowess.
On the subject of a possible move to Liverpool the pint sized Turkish international has made it clear he would be very interested by stating “As I always mention, Liverpool attracts me because of their tradition. In Europe, I am a Liverpool supporter, so if I go to play in Europe, I would like to play for them.”
Having been linked with a move away from his Istanbul club for the best part of three years, Turan appears to be nearing a much discussed exit as Galatasaray seek to balance their books and give in to the flair player’s demands. Arda Turan is something of a cult hero at the Turk Telekom Arena but his ambition to leave the club have come to a head as the club struggles in mid table under new boss Gheorghe Hagi.
Liverpool may well look to Turan to occupy a wide midfield role, a position he is said to prefer, as current options in these roles have not borne fruit. Joe Cole, Milan Jovanovic, Dirk Kuyt and Maxi have all been placed in these positions without managing to make much of an impact and Ryan Babel was sold to Hoffenheim as the Dutchman also failed to provide the Premier League side with natural width.
Galtasaray will listen to offers of around €20m (£16.8m), which would seem a fair price for a player with vast experience and great potential. The likes of Chelsea, Newcastle United and Juventus are all also said to be interested in signing the 24 year old.

Would love this player at Liverpool, can play on both wings and behind the striker and says Liverpool are his team in europe, enough said.

Wouldn't you have expected Kenny to try him at winger by now tho? It almost seems he doesn't want him to play winger.  I mean next season could be our season and at this point, I want Johnson to stay as well, but Kenny hasn't tried him at winger yet even tho he's tried quite a few others out of position.  Anyone think Kenny may be happy with his outside backs as are?

Baines would be a great signing, but there are only a few players Everton would never sell.  Arteta, Howard, Cahill and Baines.

nice to see the Arda Turan rumours surfacing again, how many years is this now? I hope we sign him, he looks top class and we badly need wingers now with Carroll in the team

Dalglish dashes to watch Celtic full-back
Published 23:00 20/02/11 By Alan Nixon

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish made a dash to watch Celtic’s brilliant Honduras left-back Emilio Izaguirre yesterday as he looks to solve his problem position. Dalglish saw the cavalier World Cup defender in top form – setting up the second goal in the Old Firm win over Rangers at Parkhead – and will be in the race for him this summer. Izaguirre is also on Manchester United’s wanted list. But the Merseysiders are looking at him as a first-team player rather than the Old Trafford plan to land him as a squad man.

Dalglish’s spies are also chasing Newcastle’s outstanding Jose Enrique, but Izaguirre is a cheaper alternative if the Toon continue to look for £12million for their defender. Celtic signed Izaguirre at the start of the campaign in a bargain deal and he has been a revelation for Neil Lennon’s in-form side. Dalglish has limited options at left-back and would snap up Izaguirre if his former club decide to put him on the market at the end of his debut season.
