It does strike me that as fans us reds are (on the whole) a bit niave. I was surprised we were able to keep Torres coming into this season and bearing in mind we have another season (at least) out of the Champions league again next year it's hardly a surprise he wants out when another club comes knocking. Throw in City's emergence as the most financially powerful club in the world and the recent rise of Spurs and we're hardly a shoe-in to qualify in the top 4 again next season. Many fans seem to think the Kenny factor should come into play but lets not forget he is a caretaker manager and his impact is far greater on the likes of Stevie and Carra.

Kenny in his presser Torres situation unchanged from club statement.

NOT FOR SALE. Is right kenny.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

£50m for Konchesky?  :D

I dunno mate, Torres is a trick customer. He's made himself unplayable for us really.

he's still listed as a player though and you can still order Torres 9 for a shirt.

If it's true then it's far better than it happening at one minute to 11 tonight. At least this way there is time to spend some of the money. There's been some silly talk of 30 million bids for Carroll but I don't think he will be going anywhere although I do like him. It sounds like the Anelka link is not going to happen which really dissapoints me but it's imperitive that we get somebody in. Sounds like spurs have bid for just about everybody in the last couple of days. with that in mind is it worth putting in a cheeky loan offer for someone like Pavlychenko? We need another option desperately. I even wouldn't have minded if we'd gone and got Keane back on loan as West Ham have just done.
